Our smoke circle found ourselves in an argument over exactly how long a roach is, wether is was even about length, what makes a roach a roach to you? How long is a roach exactly?
A roach to me is a cardboard filter I usually smoke a J/blunt till there's 1/4 left then I chip it out & toss it in my roach tin lol I keep roaches just incase I'm ever dry & can't get any weed but that's pretty rare
Yeah it depends where you're from dude I've heard people call em crutch before lol, I'm from the UK even headshops call them roach card/cardboard filters
I don't think there are specifications for roaches. Like art, I can't tell you what it is but I know it when I see it.
It's past the halfway point or when you have fully medicated and want to put it out and save it for later. A roach can also be a joint/blunt that needs to be put out before it starts burning your fingers. If you have a crutch on the joint it's the point before the crutch starts burning. There is no actual specific measurement and is completely subjective imho. I would say any fresh weed rolled in paper that is soaked in resin from the weed that was combusted above would be considered roach weed.
The end of a joint with no filter or crutch...the last little bit that is too short to light or get a hit from without inhaling ash or the ember...the reason roach clips were invented.
IMO....it's not a roach til it doesn't fit between your two fingers anymore. I smoke that shit til it's "dust"....forget a roach or keeping that shit around. If there's any green in there when I'm done..throw it in the bong!
Its purely subjective. What may be a roach to you, may not be to another person. It's just the end of a blunt with a few hits left.
I agree, basically it's what you decide to "leave over" which I recommend not doing OP, as saving it and lighting it again will always taste like ass the 2nd time.
Apparently a roach is different in Europe than in America. From the Urban Dictionary: 1. In England, joints are rolled with tobacco to help them burn. The tobacco leaks tar, which can cover and burn the smoker's lips and fingers. A roach, in England, is a small piece of cardboard, often torn from the pack of rolling papers, which is rolled and placed into the mouthpiece of the joint. This makes it easier to hold and also makes it possible to smoke the entire joint without the aid of a roach clip. 2. In America, people tend not to smoke joints using tobacco, and what is called a roach in England is termed a filter in America. The roach is the end of the joint which cannot be smoked without a roach clip, because the smoker's fingers would be burnt. The roach contains the most resin and is stronger than the rest of the joint because THC smoke has passed through and settled on it with each inhalation. A roach is often saved and smoked in a joint made from other roaches, which is much stronger than a normal joint.
