Ewc topdress burn question, ammend it?

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by Wykyd_Green, Nov 18, 2011.

  1. The ewc I have from the local hydro store about has been chilling in a medium startbucks cup since I got it and when I topdressed my plant got burned, so would ammending it to my soil mix for my 2nd grow be a severe mistake?

~Or~ should I just buy a bag of the sanctuary soil empire builder for 17 it looks good?

This is how my mix looks, based on 2 gallon geopot.

  3. i just use fox farm and it does great for me. no nutes till just before flowering and the soil sustains them the entire time. i'm almost 2 weeks into flowering and still no yellowing this time.

  4. FFOF sustained my grow until flowering as well, but I am attempting to move past the liquid nutrients, I had a bad experience with nutes .

Any input on the mix would be great...

  7. You'd probably get better answers in the organics section. But ewc should never burn your plants, maybe it was something else.

I recieved almost no love there. It prob was something of a coincidence when she was burned ill have to wing it and find out with a trial run.

  9. didn't fail me bro...its just handy ta max nutes...ewc shouldn't burn the plants....make sure your medium is well mixed...mix it..then do it again..i like ta let my ammended coco cook for a week or two to get it workin' and kinda even things out...nute hotspots in medium can burn plants..its alot of trial and error ta see what works best for you..new growth tells ya whats goin' on in the rootmass...should be uniform and lighter green than exhisting growth..if tyhat looks good....half the battles won.....what type water ya usin':smoke:
