Think you forgot to add a link: Ethylene’s Magic: Boosting Crop Yields and Strengthening Ethylene-mediated metabolic priming increases photosynthesis and metabolism to enhance plant growth and stress tolerance Which fruit produces the highest amount of ethylene gas? - ChefRadar Interesting….
Lol thnx bud. I'm thinking this might be good for me. I've got a room ,5'x8'x6'8" hi. Use to grow in there but not anymore. It would be perfect.
Boosting Crop Yields and Strengthening Plant Vigor = Bro Science ethylene is what I don't want, as plants mature to early, I try to keep it down with CS on the autos but its very useful come curing and with good venting system I can grow plants to full maturity Ethylene is a hormone that affects the ripening and flowering of many plants. It is widely used to control freshness in horticulture and fruits.[19] The scrubbing of naturally occurring ethylene delays ripening.[20] (WIKI) good luck
Ethylene-mediated metabolic priming increases photosynthesis and metabolism to enhance plant growth and stress tolerance | PNAS Nexus | Oxford Academic (oup.com) I would call it "Gro Science" based on the research. Maybe not good to do for cannabis, I dont know.
ethylene has its uses in curing, with weed shitloads are let loose during the cure, latest news claims it even assists with the cure but is just a hormone Which of the following is a function of plant hormones? A. Growth and development B. Plant defense and immune function C. Communication D. All of the above Spoiler D is correct. Plant hormones are active in all of the processes above. Depending on the species, the exact use and function of each hormone may be slightly different. However, as in animals, hormones are responsible for the proper growth, development, and reproduction of all plants.
Hmmm, I could do an experiment, I could put some food to rot in a little bucket, cover the top, with it open a little on the seedlings side, have a little fan blow towards seedlings getting some of those ethylene gases. Making me some Godzilla weed bro ! Lol
remind me what ethylene gas gonna do again? it may work if you have some very green veg or fruit, even trying to cure some weed, will ripen earlier is all I've done it heaps in the past with apples trying to ripen green tomatoes
I don't know if it's bro science or grow science. But, I did try adding a bunch of organic bananas in the small closet I'm running my Star 47 seed run in. It's a very healthy and vigorous grower to begin with. But, it actually seemed to be healthier and faster growing when I had that bunch of bananas in there. Again, it was only for about a week and I did not run a side by side experiment. But, it did seem to help. That plant is still very healthy for growing in a 1 gallon pot of organic medium and at around 3' tall.
@Green Dragging-posted study concludes that the seeds and seedlings in the study, exposed to ethylene during darkness and allowed to dwell in darkness for 3-5 days, then moved to fresh air and full spectrum LED grow lighting, produced more leaf mass and longer roots within10 days of light exposure. It also observed that mature plants were more vigorous and survived heat and drought while the control plants died suggesting better overall vigor. I did not know that cannabis produced ethylene gas! For that matter, I didn't know that apples did.....
When we make feminized seed from a female plant it's the CS or STS that acts as an antagonist in the production of ethylene from the female. That in turn caused the female to produce male flowers with female pollen.
That's good news timj, I'm ready to get started. How rotten were the bananas? I made a banana tea for the lady's last year ,I think they liked it. I wonder if rotten fruits n vegys ,that were left near garden vegys would help them grow better ,or is it just seedlings ? Ethylene is lighter than air so maybe big vegys leafs are to thick?
I never let the bananas rot. I placed them in the closet when I first purchased them and as they ripened I ate them. I'm not sure if you've ever heard of ripening fruit in a paper bag. But, it's trapping the ethylene gas that speeds the ripening process. You can take advantage of ethylene's ripening properties at home by putting your banana into a closed paper bag; the paper will trap ethylene while letting in enough oxygen to help move the process along. For even faster ripening, add an apple, pear, apricot, or avocado — they also release ethylene.
My babe always hassles the fruit guy in the mall, to put the black bananas aside, which she gets to make banana bread --yum yum! I know I made banana wine with again black bananas, from the same guy ...boy was she pissed the banana wine was crap, VERY STRINGY, it was very fibrous, ....back to weed!
I have a beloved seedling (special strain) that I fried it's first set of leaves under too much light. Been a week since. Seedling is struggling cotyledon starting to die but parts of the fried leaves have recovered and are still green, second set of leaves is coming. I want to save her! I have bananas! should I put them together in a box? and for how long?
From what I've been reading, brown, damaged bananas in a bag will let off gas . Id monitor the seedlings, remove bananas when they look good and make banana bread
The successful ethylene gas treatment described in those papers was done before and during sprouting. Ethylene exposure after sprouting did nothing. Keep a clear Taco Bell cup over her to create a humidity dome to help her recover.
