Ethanol is our chance

  1. I just read that ethanol is a growing thing here in America, so we might be able to legalize commercial hemp

    The story: http://www.katu.com/news/business/6427857.html

    But it says

"The problem is, ethanol really isn't ready for prime time. The only economical way to make ethanol right now is with corn, which means the burgeoning industry is literally eating America's lunch, not to mention its breakfast and dinner. And though ethanol from corn may have some minor benefits with regard to energy independence, most analysts conclude its environmental benefits are questionable at best."

So somebody needs to get the idea out that hemp is the solution, get it in the media somehow. I figure that if more people hear about it we might get to use all the benefits of hemp, and maybe take another step towards the legalization of marijuana.

  2. Yea I'm pretty sure the ethanol made from hemp is way more efficient than the corn ethanol too. I'm certain that our short term solution to our energy problem is in ethanol/electric hybrids. Long term will hopefully be hydrogen extracted from water, but I guess we'll see in 30 years or so.

  4. Im afraid jumping into the ethanol world before its ready will cause it to backfire. People will be too skeptical to gather enough support to make the change.

    - sorry i meant as an alternative to oil, not anything about legalization. whoops.
