  2. Post a pic of the light

  3. if all you have is a single 125 watt CFL, i would flip to flower now and expect about an ounce or a little more max.

I have pulled 6 ounces from 350 watts of T5 and CFL though ;)

  4. Forgot to add its an autoflower

  6. you can still expect the same ounce, maybe a slightly bigger yield since the light exposure of an auto will be quite a bit more....id reccomend adding a couple supplemental 23 or 26 watters down below or along the sides

  7. Thanks, I will give that a go

  8. I'd say about 20grams to an oz with that light I've grown some plants with a very similar light but now I just use it for veg and flower with an hps

  9. here is the yield i pulled a couple years ago, from 75 real cfl watts, 18 grams dry, buds were nice and dense and big, just not many of them.

You should be able to get quite a bit more than 20 from your setup, like i said, if all goes perfect, expect a zip or a little more, youll need some good nutes to pull that off too though 911534103-13714322_1076961459040288_343287954_n.jpg

  10. Thanks, I am trying to do it as cheap as possible for my first one but if it goes well then I will get a better light for next time

  11. you can get 400 watt HID setups for under $100 now, a mars hydro 300 will go around $180 i believe as well, nice lights are getting really cheap, its actually more expensive to get 400 watts of fluorescent light (t5 OR cfl) then it is HID now a days, a LOT more expensive

that jar, thats the only photo i have left, but the jar is just as wide as it is deep ;)

  13. i lied, i have one other i found in the hdd, this was the plant that pulled 18 g's under 75 watts about 3-4 weeks from harvest id guess by looking at it
    712848939-KIMG0264.jpg
this entire run used 18 and 13 watt cfl's

Without nutes id say 20 is right on par, looks pretty good for a nuteless run, bravo!

  14. Sweet,Was that an auto flower ?

  15. Cfls are FAR cheaper than ANY HID setup. 25 bucks for 16 bulbs and then the sockets at a couple bucks a piece and it might take 50 dollars to build a 300 watt, actual watt, cfl setup. Just my two cents on light cost.

id like to know where you can get CFL's that cheap that are commonly available, never seen them that cheap anywhere....ever

a $90 400 watt HPS puts out 50,000 lumens give or take, youll need a MINIMUM of 600 watts CFL to put out that amount of light, and this will cost you a MINIMUM of $160 when i looked into buying refurbished ballasted bulbs from ebay..... the cheapest i could find anywhere

Even when you add up the PAR, your getting more light for cheaper from the HID, under 250 watts id say go for multiple CFL's, over that, your better off with the HPS

At best over a couple hundred watts CFL's are on par with Metal Halide.....at best, but like i said, if your box is under 250 watts or so, go for the CFL's, it is more cost effective and succesful at that level than HID, but not above it, hell you can get a 1000 watt HID kit for $120 now......

Well, the $120 is sold out, but heres 145,000 lumens and a 2 pound dry yeild for $144, Under $1 per 1000 lumens
1000W 600W 400W Watt MH/HPS Grow Light Digital Wing System Set Kit for Ballast | eBay

To get that light output from LED youll be spending about $350, and from cfl at least $220, and from t5 more like $300

CFL's are only more cost effective in wattages where they are on PAR with HID, the higher you go the farther they get away from each other

  17. Yeah I've seen some pretty damn good grows with the homemade CFL setups.

  18. Amazon and Lowes...12 bucks for a box of 8 - 23 watt cfls, one box of 2700k and one box 6500k. That's 25, plus whatever the costs for the y-splitters and sockets...you are seriously only at about 50 or so...I am not saying it is better or worse...just far cheaper.

  19. Also, to the OP...I'd say about 1 oz for your yield.
