Error during mainline

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by HugoHugieri, Jun 17, 2020.

  1. Hello, i fked up.
I was moving some stuff around the plant and i pulled a tie that was holding my 2cond branch, i topped it to do some mainlining.
Problem is i snapped off that branch and now it is wilting so much, it snapped off at the base.

Should i keep on mainlining the remaining cola or should i cut her off and plant something else? IMG-20200617-WA0021.jpeg

  2. If it’s still attached in anyway you can duct tape it and it will heal. If it broke in 2 clone it then it won’t go to waste!

  3. I have nothing to clone with..

  4. How will it go to waste?
    It's a snapped branch.
He's mainlining so gonna be chopping most of the plant to bits anyway.
The rest of the plant is still there.
In what possible way could you improve anything by cutting the other branch off and binning what's there?
wait 2 weeks for the clone to root up.
He's a noob so it'll probably die and he's lost an otherwise perfectly healthy plant with absolutely nothing wrong with it other than a snapped branch.
Do you think that snapped branch will somehow kill a healthy plant?
Barely even hurts a really unhealthy plant.
By the time the clone gets to that size, this plant would be 4-5 times what it is now.

  5. Yes, but i snapped one of the 2 main colas. I have read that the one remaning will become the main one again, but it will be irregular, which idk what does it meanw

  6. I have had that happen to a mainline during an acrobatic filter re arrangement. You can carry on without it, or now start bending and go to lst. An irregular mainline is a pain, however, a 6 top can be tied to an even canopy.

I didn’t proof read and meant clone so the broken branch wouldn’t go to waste, if it’s not still attached and can’t be mended. Obviously the plant will be just fine!

  8. What if i top that lonely cola that's left in the plant and then fim both of the new colas?
I guess i would go close to 6+ colas and i can fill the space in a better way, what you think?

  9. I only did one plant my lie with four main goal is but it turned out male but I like the way it done it it just takes a little extra vegetation so I think all for my plants next time before Collins but all main line with 16 main colors but I'm not sure yet

  10. Ahh that does make a lot more sense. Maybe it was me that misunderstood.

  11. You can make up for it by bending and allowing all nodes to develope. Once the symetry of a mainline is disrupted the whole plant will become lopsided and it will have unequal needs. The whole beauty of mainline is everything is equal. Once that is broken, I believe it is better to abandon the whole equal idea and every bud for herself. It's now war for light.

  12. Allright thank you! This time i am not very lucky with mainlining, one got decapitated, the other is polyploid :/
Gonna recive 2-3 plants in the next days, hope to be lucky

  13. You'll be fine. Mainlining is for the guy that has everything and needs an enjoyable hobby. It does not produce the most yield. I like it because there are no decisions. I just follow the instructions. 3rd node, first nodes, first nodes. 3 sessions on an auto. 1 cut 2 cut 4 cuts. Wait 90 days then 8 cuts. If you tied, save the 8 ties and use them to hang the 8 donkey apparatus. (some are so big you can't cram them in a jar.)

  14. What's the most high yielding technique? In every grow i try a different One, that was the mainlining one

  15. I think straight lst may be the highest. But mainline is pretty high when you get it all wall to wall and there would be no room for more buds anyway. I like mainline because everything is in a tight 2x2 area. But if you have room to spread out, then scrog or a long well laid out lst is probably max per plant.
