So I understand that Trump wants the state to decide on its Medical/Recreational Marinuana laws itself. So does that not include equal rights? If a 21 year old man in Colorado can go buy an oz of weed because his back hurts, how come I cant be 21 in an illegal state and go by an oz because MY back hurts? Just examples but I want to understand why Marijuana isnt considered an equal right anong all US citizens.
Are you serial (to quote one of my favorite lines from M*A*S*H)? Equality is about as right beside of have (and They, the Right, are the Ones Who Usually have MOST of what is Worth Having to Begin With) as left is left of have not! What I mean to say is that: If you do have (money, power, etc...), then you have the the equality you seek and.... If you do have not (money, power, etc...), then you do not have the equality to fill a thimble, sad but mostly true. Regards, mike l.
There is no such thing as equality and I don't think there ever will be example a female hits a man no one cares a man hits a female he probably goes to jail for a long time I'm not saying this is right or whatever but that is not equality minority scholarships are another example of not equality all black or all female schools more examples of how we will never be equal as a country or a planet Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
Smoking weed isn't a right. It is a privilege or an option. So, if the feds are basically saying that they want to put it into the state's hands, it's a good thing. Federally it is illegal, and lots of people were are afraid that the Trump administration would override the states decisions that have voted for legalization. If your state is not legal, it time to elect a governing body that is for decriminalization. Get involved in initiatives to legalize. And get the constituency to vote for it. I am a Trump supporter and said from day one that he doesn't give 2 shits about weed. He has bigger fish to fry and other things that he wants to accomplish. Marijuana is the least of his worries and understands the financial benefits of tax revenues going to the state's via marijuana sales.
I knew that Trump said he was going to leave it to the states. But he KNOWS business. So Im sure when he realizes the money its making, he'll step in later on and legalize it, for all the taxs of course.
If he knew business like people say he does, he would't be pissing on so many people all the time, people he might just need some time in the near future to keep his family or his own sorry ass out of a sling. His own worst enemy is his own mouth. Scorched earth is not a "wise" way to run a Presidency. a. People love how he tells it like it is, even though, every time he tells it, it is completely different than the last time he told it. b. Mexico will absolutely pay for the wall, or Will They? c. He values LOYALTY above everything, yeah right, just ask Sean Spicer, Reince Priebus or Jeff Sessions, not that I care for any of them, including Trump himself. I could go on and on, but this is pointless, is it not? d. The L, G, B, T, Q community "really, really" loves him now, that he stuck it to them. He said during his campaign that he would take such good care of them, and he's off to a great start, just wait to he gets rolling. Regards, m.l.
I think you are referring to the equal protection clause of the 14th amendment to the US constitution. This amendment however only requires equal protection of the laws within a state, so that everyone within a state is treated equally under that states laws. It does not do anything for state laws across state lines. If it did, every state would have to have the same laws for every topic, not just marijuana laws. The electoral college would also be illegal since it takes more voters for each electoral vote in more populous states than less populous ones.
