Hi, just a quick question about the the temprature in the Uk. Ive orderd a few seeds and was wondering how well strains that are not advised for outdoor growing will do in the Uk? Thanks
I guess most seeds would grow reasonably well in the UK though a short flowering period (8-9 weeks max!) and mold resistance is the thing to look for as we can get very wet autumn weather just as outdoor UK cannabis is finishing flowering(Sept-Oct). Starting the seeds early indoors or in a warm greenhouse around March or April would be a better bet as larger more mature plants are more likely to finish flowering early. Check other peoples grow reports to see if a particular strain has outdoor possibilities (short/early flowering and good mold resistance). One grower on this forum has grown some very nice white widow plants outdoors that finished in 8-9 weeks though these plants were started in late April and the grower was very experienced and well prepared making sure the plants were well watered and fed organically. I would recommend starting some autoflowering seeds to be certain of being finished in time if you havent started your seeds yet as the UK summer can be very short. Though if you are in the southern end of the UK you may still be ok with non autoflowering varieties. It really depends when you expect the first frost and if we have a miserable wet autumn. Keep it green
If I were growing outdoors in the UK I would definitely get seeds that are recommended for outdoor - they can stand the cold and damp better. In fact if I were growing in the UK I would get a greenhouse, fit it with frosted glass - make the best of what little sun us Brits get. Avoid mould and any early frosts. Grow tomatoes as well and give them to the neighbours, great cover, and they will think only good things about that nice man next door.
