Hey GC people, i've been reading on here for a while and i've finally decided to make an account because I have an interesting hypothesis.

Most people who smoke would say that marijuana is not physically addictive, and I do agree/ used to agree to a point, but think about this; Cannabis affects your endocannabinoid system in regards to pain, appetite, energy, metabolism (right now I am only considering the body/physical effects at this point).

Now considering that, I know a lot of people have a hard time taking a tea break due to lack of sleep, appetite, etc. Now I DO consider that a lot of people have been originally using cannabis to help them sleep, saying that they had that problem before stopping, so just on that basis, lets take the whole "lack of sleep" out of the equation...

But here's the thing. When you stop taking marijuana, and you don't get as much as an appetite, is that not considered a withdrawl symptom? Metabolism changes - not withdrawl? You are putting something in your body that CHANGES how your endocannabinoid system works, so theoretically when you stop, there should in fact be some physical withdrawl symptoms because your body is no longer taking the same substance it has been for so long. By no means am I talking on the same level as tobacco, but aren't people overlooking this fact? (And by no means am I trying to bash weed or anything I was just kind of thinking about this idea).

Your body adapts depending on what you put in it, especially the endocannabinoid system.

Also i'm sure these symptoms only occur right when your quit, after all the cannabinoids exit your system, and your system regains regular work/process without weed.

You know what i'm saying though?

  2. I quit over a year ago, now I'm hungry for pussy all the time.

Im addicted to pussy and its not going to stop!

  3. My God....I've got to stop taking the marijuanas........

  4. Wow it was just a thought haha. forget it.

  5. Note to OP the moment you mention weed and addictive kids are gunna get angry.

On topic: on a mental basis, weed is not habit forming. If you use viagra to increase your sex drive when you don't need it regularly when you get horny without it, it will seem like your not as horny. It's not so much withdrawals its just people have taught their bodies to get extra hungry and sleepy when you smoke. Its essentially like pavlaws dog (probably spelt that wrong) he was trained to be hungry when his owner rang a bell, same with our bodies with weed instead of a bell.

On a physical level you don't become addicted but there's a chance you develop a hand to mouth fetish. But that is easily overcome by chewing gum, picking your lip or anything else that requires you to move your hand to your mouth regularly.

  6. Word yeah I kinda regretted the title after I made it.

And yeah good point I was just curious considering the whole endocannabinoid system being discovered and all that.

  7. thread failure.

so many fallacies and misinterpretations of terms and definitions....

suffice to say, pot has no additive properties, anything can become a HABIT but habits are not addictions...they are choices you make based on emotions. Abusing a habit can be done with anything, even pussy eating as mentioned above by @[member="snoopdog6502"] :metal: ...(btw snoop, you got a pube stuck in your teeth.. AGAIN...)

weak will power and not wanting to be held accountable for choices is why the misnomer of 'pot addiction' and other pleasures are diagnosed by shrinks for those willing to pay the 'get out of jail' fees :bongin:
this shrinks 'escape clause' that people want to pay for, is a choice, based on emotion, they are embarrassed and do not want to be held accountable.

You guys are misenterpreting what I mean about the word "addictive". I am not talking about mental addictions, I am talking about your bodys [slight] withdrawl process when a heavy user stops smoking.

I'm going to say that again in case you misinterpreted.

You are misenterpreting my post believing I mean "addictive" as in CHOICES and HABITS. I'm talking about what happens to your physical body (including organs that weed affects - which is all organs) when you stop smoking.

I'm talking about your ENDOCANNABINOID SYSTEM behaving differently when you consume marijuana. That's it. Not about will power, mentality, habits, addictions even. I'm not even talking about addictions. I'm talking about your BODYS ADAPTATION to the plant and the SYMPTOMS that occur (not including any mental symptoms) when you stop smoking.

FYI: If your consume enough of a substance that is natrually produced in the body, depending on what that substance is, the body will slow down its production of that substance because it is being REPLACED by whatever you're consuming. That, by definition, is a physical addiction.

With that said, with THC rich blood, going through all your organs, heart, lungs, reproductive, brain, etc, you're telling me that by smoking enough constantly doesn't change the way your organs/body work? If you say no you already know thats a lie.

But rock on for being that high :metal:

  9. That's fine and dandy and when I stopped smoking I had a little trouble sleeping for 3 days but that's it. Problem is your title says addictive. Just because you are restless at night does not mean you are experiencing withdrawals.
That's like replacing your pillow with a 2x4 and not being able to sleep and coming to the conclusion that you are addicted to pillows.

I think I know what you mean, I'm addicted to scratching my balls....

if I don't give them a good scratching every few hours I feel like I'll go nuts...no pun intended...

I'm sure stimulating those nerves that make them stop itching is the same thing you're saying.... :confused_2:

  12. Yeah your edit doesn't change anything. I don't even smoke anymore so idc. But you just employ fallacies and I have yet to see much science thrown in the mix. My organs worked pretty similarly at all points in my life.

  13. Do you have any research?

  14. I do not have research, this was just a question/hypothesis I wanted to get some feedback or discussion on but all I get is a bunch of high people talking about scratching their nuts :(

  15.
Do you eat pussy, hairy stinky pussy?

  16.
    only when your moms over

  17. I'm serious....in fact, I think I need to give em a scratching right now...

I must be addicted to it...thinking about it makes me want to do it....

Granny Storm Crow is the only one with info on this theory of ec...
