End of Space Era for America

  1. Atlantis blasts off on historic last mission - Computerworld

Today marked the end of an era for America. For 30 years we have been sending shuttles to space, but today the last one, Atlantis, was launched into space which will end NASA's shuttle program for good.

Seems to me just another symbol America is declining. I understand the costs were high for maintaining it, but it provided hundreds of thousands of jobs for engineers, computer experts, and others.

Now instead of furthering space exploration and the human race in general, we will be focusing on sending tons of money to countries who don't know how to use it.

  2. Its not the end. Its the beginning of a new era

  3. The end is always a beginning, but it is the end for the shuttle program. It's not like they are making better ships to go up there, it's done now.

  4. Agreed, I'm excited to see what all these private companies are going to accomplish.
