at least since ive been in high school i typically listened to old progressive rock, new progressive rock (post rock stuff and the like), and various incarnations of jazz fusion, acousto-electronic, etc, cod, fdic... for the past couple years though i have been delving heavily into purely electronic music. lots of programming, sampling, slicing, splicing, breaking, beating, and just plain old analog/digital virtual binaural sex music. so if i have your attention now i would like to break down some bands that i listen to, and please feel free to post recomendations, videos, anything related to styles like house, techno, rave, dubstep, downtempo, IDM (whether you like the term or not), break beat, breakcore, or whatever you feel should be here. a few bands and artists i have come to like: (and sorry, but i must start with...) Boards of canada , Aphex twin, Squarepusher, Prefuse 73 (many a warp label band really) , Tortoise , Four tet , Holy fuck , Ozric tentacles , Deadmau5 , Sound Tribe Sector 9 (sts9) , sphongle , vibesquad , and so much more... last but not least i cannot forget to mention Kraftwerk and Tangerine Dream for pioneering electronic music as we know it!
