Edibles and weed on fire

Discussion in 'Weed Edibles' started by Telebubbies, Aug 8, 2017.

  1. Hey guys. I am planning on making space brownies before, and I found out that decarbing my weed first can make it more potent. I was told to put it in the oven at 180 degrees C for 1 hour, to fully activate the THC. Now won't my weed catch on fire..?

    Thanks

  2. 180 F for 1 hour is insufficient time/temp for complete decarb. Air decarb requires about 8 hours at that temp. A widely accepted decarb method is 240 F for 40 minutes.
Your weed will catch on fire only if you heat it to 600 F or higher, which could happen if the herb gets too close to a heating element.

  3. I said 180 degrees C. Which is 365 degrees F

  4. Oops. Wasn't expecting a temp that high for that long, which will destroy your herb. Around 5 minutes decarbs at that temp. If that's the oven temp for baking raw weed mixed into a recipe, then the shielding effect of brownie mix might keep the internal temp much lower, but probably not for a whole hour.

  5. 240 F = 115 C for 40 minutes is the generally accepted decarb times and temps.
Been decarbing weed and hash at that time and temps for years now.
