When I get bored I like to experiment, and sometimes I even scare myself.

Old school HVY+the kind+electricity    What could go wrong? Lol

Anyone have any ideas as to what to do with an electric bong?
    I wanna hear them.

Bong trainer? Bong games? Lifetime bong hit counters?

  2. I don't get it... the purpose?

It's a prototype I'm working on that logs bong hit data and uses it to do...uh...stuff.

    Testing is the best part!

  4. I'd be worried to take a rip with wires right there.....and what exactly are you recording lol

  5. Yeah don't shock yourself. The only thing I could imagine useful would be seeing the temp of the smoke. Unless you have some super high tech stuff that will measure more precise things.

  6. I don't want to let the cat out of the bag as to exactly what I'm doing. I just wanted to share those pictures, they made me laugh!

I am using multiple inputs and you would be surprised at how much analog data you can get from one bong rip.

We have smart everything these days, even smart toilets! Why not smart bongs? It's about time if you ask me.

  7. Do you get any temperature stats from the hit?

  8. Oh you know just charging my bong...

  9. Nope, I tried a temp sensor mounted on the bong stem, but it didn't change enough with my cheap sensors to provide any sort of data.

I'm working right now on galvanic skin response. BONG ALARM! Lol. Seriously though, don't we all need a bong alarm?

  10. That looks pretty sweet, man- props to your originality. Subbed, so keep us updated!

  12. Now, if you had say, put up an electronic lighting bong that would be something....

  13. Lava lamp bong please. Possibilities are endless with the e-bong

  14. How about a bong with leds and a bluetooth speaker that could connect with your ipod or smartphone and play music that the leds would strobe to.

  16. Attempts to clean bong in sink...ahhh fuck.

I thought I was going to see homemade e-nail type piece, oh well.

No offense but it seems like you are complicating something that should be simple. The only way you would get an accurate temp measurement would be inside the tube.

Maybe after you release some of the info you get. I just can't think of anything useful, especially since the sensors are on the outside.

  18. I've actually got this thing going pretty good. Of course I'm a little shy to release the exact way I found to get input from the bonghit, because it's actually very easy, ingenious and potentially profitable.

What I get the reading with is inconsequential though, the fact is I have a pretty solid scale of data from the bong toke, so I can determine the difference between a small hit and a big hit...that's the key!

With that I can make stuff happen, lights, music, movement, you name it...and It can vary depending on the size of the bong rip.

I'll have an update soon, I have a working battery powered prototype, off the bread board, and it's absolutely hilarious. Nobody can take a bong hit without smiling during the hit...
