i want to start selling item i dont use anymore on ebay but it is my first time and i dont wanna fuck anything up. i also want good feedback for future refernce. i want to sell my gamecube. i am skeptical of sending it because if i send it and dont package it right and it breaks i dont want anything to happen. does anyone sell on ebay that can give me advice? im really broke and need some money. im nervous as hell doing this shit
first, take notice of any blemishes, and write down all accessories/games included with the system. second, take pictures of everything together and if there are blemishes on the system/games/controllers take individual pics of those. then, take the game cube to UPS store or Kinko's and have them package it for you and ask for a shipping quote... they should just use multiple zips across the nation and find the avg. once you've done that, you've taken care of two of your concerns (one immediate, one you didn't describe) 1. you now have a safely, professionally packaged item for sale 2. you now know how much to charge for shipping once you've got all that, you can log in to you account, sign up and activate your seller account, and I'd HIGHLY recommend paypal. if i were you, the only two methods of payment i'd take are paypal and money order (for the time being). if you need more help PM me... i've got 3 accounts on ebay and i spent two whole summers living fairly well off income i generated selling there. from that point on, it's pretty self-explanatory.... the new forms they use are mostly drop down selection boxes and the only part you'll have to come up with is the description. i'd also do a "completed listing search" and find out what similar systems with whatever you're including are going for to know what to expect. if they're going around $100 i'd start the bidding at .98 cents (believe me you'll be fine) if you're REALLY worried about not getting what you want for it, put a reserve on the auction (it'll cost you more, but you won't be required to sell the item unless you get the price you want)
eBay: Gamecube with 2 controllers, adapter, and memory card (item 330020296036 end time Aug-27-06 13:05:37 PDT) (thanks bopper)
omg.....so i sold the gamecube and started it at $15.00. i thought that it would go higher but it didnt. the notice is up and someone bidded for it and the final price is 15.00!!! wtf, i just got the email right now. is there some way i can take this back?
Don't think so, you should of put some reserve or put it at a price you wo uld be willing to sell. Sorry, tough luck.
ohhhhh shit man thats fucking shitty only 15.00 shoulda put a reserve on it i would of bid on it but you only sell to US
Yeah, you might be able to tell the buyer that you broke it somehow and you cant sell it, but ur pretty much screwed.
yeah, that's why i threw that reserve advice in there for ya... did you check out what other systems were selling for? check out these two auctions...compare and contrast....search these auction numbers 200020943705 190024526181 i can garauntee 75% of the reason you didn't get bids was your feedback...0% on a mid-range item is sketch to people...ebayers're unforgiving these days with all the scammers...nobody wants to give a new guy a chance... if you want, report the item lost to ebay then send me the GC i'll sell it for you, free of charge, just cover seller+transaction fees...also if you've got any games, i'd include those, boost your value BTW: thanks TSA...i'd prefer to call myself a recovering addict...combined on my accounts i've accumulated over 500 feedback in the past year and a half...the 4-5 yrs prior when i had my first account i was only in the mid 20's
Doh, 15 bucks you could have sold it at gamestop or one of those places for more than that Hopefully you can find a way out
