Hey GrassCitizens, I would like to invest in a Easy recipe for soil. right now I have 2 pants 3 days old. They are potted in Miracle Gro seed starting Soil. I bought some 5-1-1 Fish Emulsion, but I would like to change to a All-in-One soil mix in about 2months. So far, I like Fox Farm Ocean soil. I don't want to many indgredients. Can you recommend something good quality & Easy to make?
@Fataqui If I decide to stay with Miracle gro starter mix for the duration of my harvest. and use fish emulsion according to their directions, what results should I expect. My original soil strategy was Organic Potting Soil, and 5-1-1 fertilizer for vegatation stage & 1-4-5 fertilizer for flowering. I was told it was a good combination of soil & nutrients and would not harm the plants. 2nd question, Coast of Maine Stonington blend -vs- Fox farm ocean soil, If I chose either of these and let them grow natrually without adding nutrients. is this idea a better choice?
Coast of Maine Stonington blend was made just for growing cannabis. I am from the area and have personal seen how much research they have put into creating that most amazing mix. It is the only Start to Finish mix that you can buy and not have to do anything but water your plants from seedling to harvest. Really the only thing you might have to add during flowering depending on the strain you are growing is calmag or calmag+. And that only because I have noticed some strains don't need it, while other do. As for your question will FF Ocean Forest get you through an entire grow, no it will not get you through an entire grow unless you constantly feed throughout your grow, or add a good tomato specific fertilizer blend and some good compost and cook it for awhile before using it. Don't get me wrong, FF Ocean Forest is an excellent starting mix, but it's doesn't have the nutrients to do and entire grow from start to finish. Another option, that I have had great success with is using FF Ocean Forest and just using one single feeding system and that is Jacks Citrus Feed. It grows some wonderful plants with big buds every time. Now if you were to use that you would have to supplement it with calmag or calmag+ with each feeding. In closing... to me the three ways to grow that I mentioned here are the easiest ways to grow beautiful budding plants. Yes there are many other ways to do that to, but none are any easier than the (3) I mentioned here. Plus from a nutrient cost stand point, nothing I have tried in my many years of growing is as cheap as these (3) methods. Now as far as MG stuff goes, you can use it, but don't ask me if it's any good because I am not a fan of anything MG when it comes to growing cannabis. But hopefully someone else can answer those questions for you because I can't, well, won't cause like I said I don't like them, PERIOD!
