Feminised Seeds Co Easy Kush outdoors in So. Cal sun

Alright. so I wanted to make the most out of my states MM policy, got my recommendation from my DR. & decided to try a summer grow along w/ the other garden plants.

I've tried to grow in the past but never saw very good results, so I spent some time reading up on how & what to do & decided to jump on in.

I ordered some beans from Herbies who I would highly recommend, great service & products !!

I typed in "easy" to their search function hoping to find a good beginner strain

    this one came up

Feminised Cannabis Seeds Co Easy Kush Feminised Seeds Info
Easy kush suitable for the neewbies and 1st timer's! Easy kush will look after her self, she can be left alone for days at a time and adapts well. Sturdy and robust. Great Yield and a classic kush aroma.

I figured it says suitable for beginners so I ordered them.

Seeds arrived w/ no hassles & I germinated them in the paper towel method on 4-20-14 which seemed like a Fine day to begin. They sprouted a couple days later & I sowed them in Red solo cups w/ a mix of 75% FFOF & 25% perlite.

I kept a plastic sandwich baggie over the tops of cups to help keep the soil moist. 3 days later they sprouted above ground.

They have been outside in the So Cal. sun ever since.

Now this is my 1st official "grow" & since I couldn't find much info online about this strain I figured I would put down some notes to help out the next "beginner" I know very little about growing so don't take this for gospel....

I kept the sprouts in the solo cups for about 3 weeks, then I transplanted one of them in a 3 gallon "smart" pot & one to a regular 3 gallon nursery pot. I kind of wanted to see if there is any difference in the pot types as far as growing.... so far the smart pot plant is much bigger

Found a little video by the Joint Dr on transplanting to minimize stress on seedlings here

Put both seedlings in the same mix of 75 FFOF /25 perlite since they seemed to like it so far.

They are getting a full day of sun & seem to be doing well, but I'm new to this so I really don't know for sure........... they do look nice & happy. Still have a long way to go, neither one is showing sex yet, but they were feminized seeds so I'll keep checking.

I started them w/ Foxfarm trio nutes about 2 weeks or so after transplanting, gradually upping the strength from 1/4 to 1/2 to now at almost full strength.

One ( the smaller one ) has some "rust" colored spots on the leaves I need to look into.

I "misted" them w/ NEEM oil & an organic caterpillar killer since they are outside just to be on the safe side. I do this once a week the past couple weeks w/ no adverse effects showing ? ( rust spots ? )

here are a few pictures so far. I'll continue to update as they progress throughout the summer.

The one in the Smart pot is about 18" tall & I topped it a few days back, the one in the regular pot is about 12" tall & I'm letting that one alone ( for now )

The leaves are huge at this point.

Thx GC for being a great site for a newbie like me to learn so much & hopefully get a small harvest.
