Hi all, Been making tinctures and edibles for a couple of years now, using VG, Alc (40%-85%) and coconut oil - obviously not all at the same time! Recently i've been trying to reduce the liquids, to make it as concentrated as possible. The current mix I am using contains a half oz covered in 80% alc (Polish vodka) and 30ml VG. It was decarbed then soaked/agitated for two weeks and strained. Now its time to reduce this down. I've tried before to get rid of excess water/alc by leaving at room temp and by using a water bath. The mix has always come out a lot less potent. I have tried leaving the current mix at room tempt for three days in a warm room, its reduced down slightly is still a lot more runny than plain VG. Any ideas as to A) why potency might have decreased upon heating and B) how to get rid of the excess water in the current mix!
