Hey folks, here's something to help you with flavorings, courtesy of the E-cig community. :) First, a note from me....

Oddly enough, edible, water-soluble artificial flavors are usually the easiest, and safest to work with... you should not work with oil-based flavorings unless you have a LOT of patience... it can take months for a 'real' oil-based flavor, or a flavor that is insoluble in water, to properly, and more importantly, safely blend.

Certain completely natural plant essences, when heated and inhaled, can be overpowering to a degree that is harmful to your health, if they are inhaled in concentration.. not to mention the potential for scarring, and lipid pneumonia. So choose your flavors wisely, and be sure you work with the type you have, according to its requirements. 'Real' and true oil-based flavorings need MUCH more time.. the below mentioned artificial flavors blend fast, and start to taste great within the first few days... yes, it takes a few days for the flavors to mingle properly.
If it tastes too strong (or too weak) or just plain odd, the first day or two, that's normal.

Some of the US e-juice suppliers actually mix up small, customer-sized batches, only as they are ordered, and they let their customers know there is a waiting period where they hang onto the juice for a few days before shipping it out.. it used to be they sent them right out, with a warning to let them sit, but many people diregarded that warning, tried the juices straight off, and assumed the flavors were just nasty and disappointing. :)

I personally really like the LorAnn: amaretto, bluebuerry, blackberry, raspberry, butter rum, strawberry, pina colada, chocolate hazelnut (not the reg chocolate)... and I don't care for the cotton candy, until I've added some strawberry or raspberry to it [IMG]
One of my least favorites, the 'bavarian creme', really needed help. I sort of hated it off the bat (lol) but after a little blending with a few other flavors, and after enough rest-time, it comes around nicely and has its place. If you like mint, go for the artificial wintergreen, rather than the true oil.. it's surprisingly nice.

Eggnog, is one of my very favorites... a terrific evening/bed vape [IMG]

Those are just my regulars :p

Tip: Personal preference aside, each flavor is of a slightly different concentration. Three drops of one flavor, may be WAY too strong if using another. So you very likely won't be using the same, or a consistent amount of flavor, for a consistent amount of tincture. That's where the percentages listed with the individual flavors below, will come in!

    From the E-cig community:

" This is mainly a comprehensive collection of others' posts and various peoples' opinions on flavors.

Credit goes to Scottes, Scubabatdan, Sun Vaporer, Þornbjörg, DVap, Kurt, AlexTM, SysEx, anyone who contributed in any way, and all forum staff.

WARNING: For newer DIYers, avoid buying those that are insoluble in water at first - they are very strong and more difficult to work with. While I have not included ratings for insoluble LorAnn's, many are good. Some people use the oils, but they usually mix them with alcohol first so they mix better with the final solution.
Use food coloring and additives at your discretion - they haven't been fully tested.
A more advanced chart on LorAnn's safety can be found here: http://www.exogenesis.co.uk/Loranne1.htm

You can get them in 1-dram (3.7ml) or 1-oz. (30ml) bottles. It's best to try drams to start with. Good places to buy LorAnn's flavors are:
    LorAnn's website (all sizes)
Individual 1-drams LorAnn Oils Gourmet Flavoring .125oz.
Individual 1-oz. LorAnn Oils Gourmet Flavorings
    LorAnn's in Australia (mostly 1-dram)

Solubility information <-- water soluble is safest, though insoluble ones are sometimes soluble in PG.

I mix mine with a little grain alcohol and (RO or distilled) water first, to the desired strength, and then add my hash tincture....

This is prior to shaking, and in a few days (as seen in the spray bottles) the flavors and tincture blend nicely. :)

    Hope this helps, guys

I just wanted to say that this is one of the BEST threads on the internet! I picked up an e-cig starter kit last week to quit analog cigs, and it is working incredibly well for me. Of course after a day with my e-cig, I started thinking about using it with thc oils and tinctures since I love bho and bubble. Thank you BadKittySmiles for dropping your tincture and e-cig knowledge! You are a rockin badass thc tincture and e-cig/vaporizer genius. :) I wish I knew a girl as passionate and involved as you are about good medicine and vaporizers.

  8. nice icky, what kind of e cig did you pick up?

I got the eGo-T, and I am really enjoying it. Using it with cartomizers and it hits and tastes great! Now, I'm trying to get up the nerve to experiment making an e-liquid with 1/2 or 1/4 oz. of top quality. I would hate for it to not work out after going through a trial and error because it is such top notch medicine. I will probably wait to get some more equipment and extra meds before I take the first steps on this venture.

  10. Thanks soo much. I just started a 2oz batch to fill my apartment with weed fog this week.

  11. wow, that's awesome.

  12. So how do I make the canna fog juice?!?!?! Omfg so exite!!!

i cant believe i haven't yet subscribed to this thing!

  14. Dude, there is even an iPhone/android app for Grasscity.com

  15. OK. I think this is definitely a question for an experienced pro like Badkittysmiles.

So my difficulty in the whole e-cig w/thc has been breaking down my concentrates in the glycerine to be vaped. I had also started making different kinds of sublingual tinctures. After making one batch of green dragon concentrate oil, I decided to thin it back out with some everclear. It seems to me that the oil is bioavailable in the everclear. So I then mixed it with some glycerine and it appears to stay bioavailable in the glycerine with the alcohol. I tried it out and it still vapes good in the e-cig. It just doesn't have any potency.

So my question is this: Does my glycerine need to go through he gentle heating process? Will this even work? Curing time? Am I on to anything? BADKAT, HELP!

  16. I love this great explanation. Also like the fog machine vape. If you are looking for something simpler I just bought a new vape pen called a trippy stix and all you do is drop a piece of hash wax in it is ready to vape, no liquid but it works perfectly and so simple

  17. ^^ Hmmm wonder if you're marketing that product lol

  18. Ok 1st off, let me say i have been googling for days now and have came across this thread alot, made an acct JUST so i could post this. All I wanted to know was if i could put hash oil in an e-cig. Initially i believed that all e-cigs and vape pens were exactly the same. THEY ARE NOT. As i was about to buy an omicron, i read that all those vape pens were shams, just e-cigs with a new label. THIS IS TRUE! I know thats contradictory but just follow me. I searched forever about what exactly the specs are for vape pens and e-cigs. Did not come up with much. BUT, long story short, i learned that vape pens are in fact e-cigs with A: stronger batteries B: low resistance atomizers. After i found all this out. I STILL wasnt sure if hash oil needed to be watery for an e-cig, and if i NEEDED a tincture. YOU DO NOT. So for everyone who ended up here because they were wondering if you can simply just buy a cheap e-cig, get some hash oil from a club, and load it up, as simple as that. YES YOU CAN.....i dont know how many hours ive been going in circles all over the internet and could not find a single person who said this FOR FACT
