dying bud?

  1. i may have waited too long .... if a part of a bud turns totally brown and appears to die, you wated too long ? is this so. well we were sampling some budage and notice some what looked like dead budage. so we harvested the plant. did we do wrong.

  2. Pictures would help alot if you have any ?

  3. Looks like budrot. Cut out the affected areas as soon as you can or it will spread. That mold is bad to smoke, can cause bad reactions.

  4. i don't know anything about plant problems, but those plants looks georgous. despite the budrot, that's some really good looking outdoor bud.

  5. yeah dude, cut that shit out as soon as possible and make sure there is none left. It spreads quickly and will take out your buds in no time. I'm new, but I'm pretty sure the main cause is rain & humidity, as well as poor circulation around the plant. It's been wet and humid where I'm at so I've been checking 2 - 3 times a day and removing the rot as soon as it's visible. So far I've found that if you get it all out, it won't spread, but it does not stop it from happening again somewhere else on the plant. Keep an eye out & Good luck

  6. well the bud was so close we destroyed the bad spots and harvested some buds that were close enough.. here is a pic of a few buds mostly manicured...[IMG]

  7. :D Lookin delicious

  8. don't think it's rot, red. if you check my thread, you can see that the same thing is starting to happen to buds on plants that i am leaving on extra long. i have 0% moisture,

  9. hmm i was trying to go for more amber than clear but i harvested when mostly cloudy and a little amber and a rare clear left.

  10. I dont know dead. Yours seem to have mostly brown hairs, but the calyxes are stayin green. His plant looks brown even down there, and some of the leaves too. Your picts had dying leaves too. But they seemed to be drying out and turning a different color, his leaves look the same brown color as the rest of the mass.

Not sure on this one Dead. Did anyone respond on your thread about the brown bits?

  11. first off, i like will's mouse....ok,wrong site...ah, brown bud. will, does the brown part fall right off when you touch it?

  12. yes it does. and now that some is drying the odor is a little strong. not very pleasant, yet if you smoke it DAMMMMN, love that sativa.. who knows

  13. looks like good bud

  14. yes, it is very strong. but it's not a "sick" strong. it is just a very intense concentration of max thichs, plus i think there is a minor beginning of decay.
i say that because what i think is happening is that the plant can't supply enough fluids to the bud anymore. demand has exceeded capacity to deliver, so to speak.
it's good smoke if you run out of morphine and need an operation. won't feel a thing.

  15. You are right, this is the plant coming to the end of its life, it is not rot or any disease. Remember MJ is an annual and only lives for one season, this is nature taking its course.

You did dead right to chop there and then.

  16. Sorry if I messed ya up dude.. I guess I should just learn to keep my mouth shut!:(
To me it looked like the plants were still in an early stage, it looked just like what i had, but as a new guy I probly shouldn't have put my two cents in.
lesson learned, glad to hear your shit's doing it's job!!:smoking:

  17. the smell is so intense it takes your breath away but a bud was dried for a few days and it was a almost tastless smoke with a slight friuty odor.. and i agree with what the other guy sayed i am good for surgery, lol, i looked under a micro and it was almost all amber now.,.. so all is well that ends well. i now know the diference in bud rot and just dying bud, thanks for the help guys

  18. Crap!

Glad it worked out Will but my diagnosis was wrong. Sorry bout that. :(

Does anyone have any pictures of actual Budrot then? So the main sign of budrot would be a diseased smell. I use a organic topdressing that stinks anyway, it may be hard to use smell to test it for me. Looks like it will rain here till it starts to snow, this might be something i need to know.

  19. We cut down 4 plants early this year due to bud rot. It looks exactly like the pic, but you can tell it's bud rot because its moist and everything is dying and turning brown, including the small leaves. You won't need to smell it, it's easy to see if you examine your buds closely and check underneath them.

watch for it if it gets cold and rainy...it'll take a plant down fast. we caught it in time to harvest some good bud.
