Are they the same? Or does DWC just grow bigger roots in a bigger bucket.. Kinda lost even when searching it confused the shit out of me...
DWC (Deep water culture) is where you aerate the res with an shit load of air stones. The roots will always be in water. Some people take a Styrofoam "lid" drill holes in it and place the "lid" directly on top of the water so it floats. The net baskets(filled with expanded clay and rockwool) are then directly in the water. Airoponics is when the roots are "misted" with the solution. Im not 100% sure but i dont think the roots are ever submerged in the solution. I think after the misting occurs (timed or continuously) the water drains from the bucket and back into the res which should also be aerated.
the roots are not suppose to get submerged in aeroponics, but often do, because of the nutrient solution channeling, or flooding. depending on ur set up, DWC usually has larger root mass, and is for bigger plants
I mixed the two and getting great results. http://forum.grasscity.com/do-yourself/733863-dwc-foggers-updated-rig.html#post9466609
