DWC Reservoir Temperature?

Discussion in 'Hydroponic Growing' started by sunndropper, Oct 1, 2010.

  1. Ive been at this for awhile, in my opinion anywhere between 45 & 65 degrees is optimal. Its best not to let it swing to far either way as it will cause stress.

  2. 45 degrees. ..uhhh no.

  3. Screw a chiller, I just got a slightly bigger container than my res and coated the bottom in cotton rags and cut up mattress pad, set the res in and packed the sides with more rags and foam. Top off with refrigerated water or cold tap and my temps generally stay between 60 and 64

  4. I would guess you are inexperienced with hydro, why don't you try it? The roots love cold water.

  5. Yeah, I wouldn't. Not unless my ambient temps were within 15-20 degrees of that. Uptake would pretty much stop and yield would be diminished.
I don't care to test it, but feel free to show us your proof.

  6. Thanks for the info.. Do these temps apply for ebb and flow reservoirs?

  7. Look at my grows. That is my proof. To each their own though.
