The clone was put into flowering with about 3" of roots and just grew freakishly, so after about 4 weeks of growing its reached the light in 12/12 cycle and no top cola, def signs of budding in lower nodes but no top cola? Anything I can do about this seeing as its at the light?
From the sounds of it, you probably need to raise your light That's why your bottom buds are developing and your upper buds are on hesitation-mode, which is unusual this early on... except when those top bud sites are getting (what they feel to be) too close to the light source. Some plants are more sensitive than others, so some plants need to be kept either closer or further away. If the light can't be raised, and you can't move both your light and plant/s to a taller grow space, then you're going to have to try (and it's a bit late for it) manipulating and training your plant down. Or you could always take cuttings, root and veg them briefly, and start over.
