Attempting first DWC grow. I understand in soil grow that you only need to use properly ph’d water for the first 2-4 weeks since the soil provides nutrients. But in a DWC set up, does the same apply? Do I only use properly ph’d water for first several weeks. I want to say no but not sure. Any help is greatly appreciated
pH is very important in hydro. It needs to be in a correct range from seedling to harvest. So yes, properly ph'd water must always be used.
I understand that. But am I only using water in first 3 weeks of a autoflower. Or am I starting nutes sooner.
Use very, very weak nutes at first, or your plants can get nute burn. The seed contains a bit of nutrients, but it will only last a few days. Going above 100 ppm for a seedling can be hazardous to its health. I accidentally stunted growth once with 150 ppm (500 scale) on a new seedling. The plant can be fed weak nutes immediately, and can die if not fed within a few days.
