DWC Autoflower Nute Question

Discussion in 'Hydroponic Growing' started by bfoster2k7, Jan 3, 2018.

  1. Attempting first DWC grow.

I understand in soil grow that you only need to use properly ph’d water for the first 2-4 weeks since the soil provides nutrients.

But in a DWC set up, does the same apply? Do I only use properly ph’d water for first several weeks. I want to say no but not sure.

    Any help is greatly appreciated

  2. pH is very important in hydro.
It needs to be in a correct range from seedling to harvest.
So yes, properly ph'd water must always be used.

  3. I understand that. But am I only using water in first 3 weeks of a autoflower. Or am I starting nutes sooner.

  4. You will always run nutes in dwc. That's how it grows.

  5. Use very, very weak nutes at first, or your plants can get nute burn.
The seed contains a bit of nutrients, but it will only last a few days.
Going above 100 ppm for a seedling can be hazardous to its health. I accidentally stunted growth once with 150 ppm (500 scale) on a new seedling.
The plant can be fed weak nutes immediately, and can die if not fed within a few days.

  6. Thanks bro!
