Hey, Just wanted to ask my fellow bladies which DVD rip program works for them? I used to have a good one, I think it might have been from download.com but I can't remember, and I could use it to rip from blockbuster dvds, but then I had a computer problem come up with a bad windows update, ended up having to format the hard drive and reinstall windows, so now I can't remember which program I used to use, and here I rented the Union, and I want to get a copy on my portable hard drive... so, please, any suggestions?
handbrake is my personal favorite.. works well rips to mkv or mp4, i prefer mkv with vlc Five Best DVD Ripping Tools EDIT: forgot to add handbrake you can also choose the percentage of qualtiy or the target size of the ripped dvd. also it bypasses any encryption the dvd may have
If you are making simple image rips of the disc I would recommend imgburn: Download ImgBurn 2.5.5.0 - FileHippo.com
Thanks for the suggestions, I went with handbrake, and then I had to get something to decrypt, so I found DVD43 for that. Worked great!
i bought a few dvd's today and i want to download them onto my computer hard drive. i've never did this before so i figured it wouldn't be too hard. i try'd windows media player and vlc media player that came with my computer when i bought it. is it a problem with the disc? copyright issue preventing me from downloading it? its a porno if that helps . if i download handbrake will that enable me to rip the dvd onto my computer? is there any other way using my current software? i have windows 7
If you use handbrake you'll also need a decrypter, look for dvd43, it's pretty simple to use, it just sits in your system tray until you pop in a dvd, then when the happy face turns from yellow to green you just open your ripping software and it will work.
you do not need a decrypter for handbrake. I have used handbrake countless times with encrypted dvds.... EDIT: i guess handbrake on the windows platforms does not decrypt commercial. i use a mac so it does.
i figured it out. i downloaded handbrake and dvd43 and ripped a dvd and it worked with no problems thanks guys. i always assumed windows came with software to rip dvd's but i guess not.
