I just built a flower room and my dumbass forgot to move the plants vegging in the room next door.. So they got covered in drywall dust. It's whitish and extremely fine. I removed the top layer of soil by hand to hopefully remove any on the surface before I water them but it's still all over the leaves.. Is there anything I can do to save them? I tried wiping the leaves with a wet rag and the dust didn't come off.. maybe I can try misting them? They are ready for flower and I haven't turned on the lights yet. P.S. My clones also got covered and are dying because of it. Any suggestions to save my girls would be much appreciated.. thanks
I'd just grab a stem near the effected area with one hand, and kind of tap the stem vigourously with the other. Should shake most of it off.
I am not sure..............I PERSONALLY would use either like a leaf blower....or hair dryer....at not TOO high a speed.........to blow them MOFO's clean...........AND THEN........drinch em all in water.........to hopefully remove any thats left........but I really Good luck
You could...I suppose...use that thing that they use to clean dust off PC components. compressed air. Just make sure you keep your can angled correctly or you'll freeze 'em. Or, get yourself a sonic duster.
Drench them in water? What do you mean? like Misting them? And I'm about to try hitting them with a leaf blower
Nooo.......I was thinking more like.......using a hose outside.........or whatever......not letting the FULL stream land of your plants of course.......but if you have a nozzle that you can turn into a mist........but more powerful than like a squeese water bottle mist........enough to grab ahold of the particles and let it all run off..... can do it in the shower as well........if you can "control" your shower head.....
UPDATE: Just tried hitting them with a leaf blower, worked my way up to the highest speed and although it didn't hurt the plants at all it also didn't knock the dust off. If I wipe the leaves really good with my fingers I actually can get the dust off so maybe misting them will work? Seems to be the next best idea to try here..
Its actually recommended to do that every few weeks to make sure dust doesnt block the light. I dont do it, but will do in the future during vegetative
UPDATE: So I started to hit them with my mister bottle and at first glance it looked like it had taken care of the dust.. however upon patting them dry there still appears to be a bit of dust on them still.. The water definitely did help though. So I guess my only choice here is to heavily mist all of the leaves and then let the girls dry overnight and start flower in the morning? And just pray that they make it They've already gone 24 hours with no light to undergo transition to flower so I'd say I shouldn't keep them from the light any longer than another 12 hours or so
Well of course it is your call...........but there are a couple of options for ya.............throw em back into veg........and "clean" em really well...........or go ahead and flower them........and make sure you do a proper "bud washing" after harvest............
Well I decided to mist the fuck out of them and let them dry. They have yellow spots appearing on the leaves already.. not sure what that means
Let's get a pic. Yeah what ap said, budwashing is a possibility. I did it on my outdoor. There was a blade who gaves his plants a bubble bath, not sure I'd go that route. He covered the pots in plastic and actually got soapy bubbly foamy goodness and gave them a bath. Bwuaha
Here are some pics I just took, after spraying about 20 mins ago EDIT: I just re uploaded the pics in higher quality
I at least rinse all my plants from the outdoors. Sometimes indoors also. Some big growers do it all the time Sent from my SM-N960U using Grasscity Forum mobile app
I did rinse them though, about 30-45 mins ago, and as you can see in those pics they are already starting to dry and you can still see the dust on the leaves. The misting didn’t help much at all..
You tube up bud wash. It will help at the end. I would take them outside for the day and rinse, but that's me lol and I live in weedafornia Sent from my SM-N960U using Grasscity Forum mobile app
