  1. okay, so I was at work, and I was slicing this atlantic salmon ino thin strips, for some hors doerves that we are serving at a wine tasting tomorrow night. so im going, along and someone asks me about the reduction sauce that goes with it, and I stopped paying attention, for just a split second and bam!!!! I cut it off right down to the fingernail (about a 1/4 inch all meat no bone) it bled, profusely. So I went to the ER, hurts like hell right now. not happy:(

  2. Ouch man, I slice chicken and cold cuts on those machines..god I hate them one time my friend was working the shift with me and dropped a fat sack of some nice bud we just got into my pocket and my attention turned and luckily I just fucked up the cut but not my finger, get better soon man, smoking makes the pain go away ^_^

  3. LOL! can you see the bone?

  4. im not trying to be an ass but i think this is kinda funny that this happenend while you were prepairing something to cook, after you started your cooking thread not to long ago. lol

  5. i wanna see some PICS

  6. This thread is useless without pics... LOL

  7. ouch, that sucks. I might have cut myself a little chopping some shit or whatever but never chopped part of my finger off. Hope ya heal fast :)

  8. i did the same thing at work one night but i was cutting apples. it really sucked to because i lost the part that got cut off. but its ok now because it grow back it was mostly nail so it wasnt to bad. just hurt like hell.

  9. i dot that when i was nine, but it was a heavy redwood door and i slamed it and didn't pull out my finger in time. Took off my entire fingernail (w/root) and i could see the tip of my finger bone. It's grown back suprisingly well, better that the doctors expexted.

  10. wow, I just did that a few weeks ago dicing onions, cut off a small piece of my thumb, hurt pretty good, but I just stopped the bleeding and bandaged it with some antibiotics. It's almost completely healed now. Weed helps, lol.

  11. ouch....sounds pretty painful...get baked and then marvel at the coolness of having part of ur finger cut off :)

Just another reason i shouldnt learn to cook, i dont need to be missing fingers at some point in my life.

  12. don't talk to people when you're on the bansaw.

I've seen this happen 1000 times. Just be glad it wasnt the whole finger.

  13. You aint kiddin man. That shit happens all the time.

So, potstylz, could they reattach(sp?) it?

  14. that sucks dude...my neighbor cut off part of his thumb one time cus he was in a tree with a chainsaw and fell out of the tree.

  15. The worst I've heard of was a guy mauling the palm of his hand in the jointer. (see pic)

It's a big revolving blade that will sheer and pull anything.

I wasn't there but the guy lost all his fingers and most of his hand. The worst part was that it was all caught in the machine.

  16. Ouch... My boy did that not too long ago (he's a cook at some fancy ass resturant)... Looks painful..

That saw thing reminds me of when my friend's dad lost some fingers in the wood chipper... I was like 12 at the time. Me and my friend helped him look for the fingers in the pile, but we couldn't find them :( Took one all the way off and the other at the middle knuckle.

  17. Duuuuude that sucks... got any pics?

  18. I dont have pics because I dont own a camera, but planning to buy one very very soon, like next paycheck. But, it was on a meat slicer, and no you cant see bone, but it does look nasty. The tip was sewn back one, but looks all nasty. Its black and blue, and theres 10 stitches in it, about 1/16 of inch apart from one another

  19. Ouch! I hope it heals fast for ya.

  20. My brother used to work at Outback and one of his friends was working with the deep fryer (Industrial deep fryers are huge) and someone rushed by and bumped into him. He extended his arm to catch himself and plunged it into the deep fryer. Needless to say he couldn't use his arm for weeks.
