Ok I am coming back to GC as now I know that there is a section for grow journals, my own stupit fault for not looking in the first place so if you can forgive me for going else where I can now post my pics apologies for the other site name in the bottom corner. First off my baby is 14 days old today the pictures on bottom are from today the other pics are a selection from the last 2 weeks so here goes. Strain........ Northern Lights I believe it is Indica My plants are 2 weeks old today Indoor Grow Soil Grow 40% Organic soil for growing tomatoes 40% John Innes compost #2 20% Perlite 2 Spotlights each 23w at 4000k (these are all I could get) 2 Cfl's 13w at 6500k( I think as given these no packaging) Growing in a closet well vented small fan not always on and so far no pests PH around 6.5 Watering only when really needed, and no ferts used so far. 2 plants but I am only going to keep 1 after I get some good advice. Here are my plants at 3 days old. The one on the right the stretched one is the one that I am keeping now and here is a pic of her at 2 weeks old (today) Here is a pic of my closet where she is living and here is the latest pic of plant and closet This is the best pic yet hope you agree To cut a long story very short I am down to 1 plant now so I am really praying that she is indeed female which brings me to my first question. Feminazed seeds do they always turn out female or can they produce males? I bought my seeds from a reliable supplier so I am hoping there good. I plan to LST them but the more I read the more confused I am about this technique I am no "flouroman" so please bear with me on this, My plan was to start training on day 21 is that a bit premature or should I have to wait until the plant gets to about 12 inches at the moment it is 4 inches tall, also at the same time I was going to switch to 12/12 currently on 24/0 is this the right thing to do. Finally the cotyledons are still on the plant and still green so I am thinking that I dont need any nutes yet am I right? Once again I would really like your opinions on my plant good or bad they are all welcomed.
hey dub.well your plant looks nice and healthy bro looks like good tight internodal spaceing so no stretch good,about the food i wait until a week out of seed then start at very light feed ,not sure about the lst im getting ready to try that out myself but basically your just bending the plant over so instead of all the good stuff going to the top its redirectd and all the side branches that would have been small because of lack of light are now all at the top with the plant bent like that and tied so instead of one cola you get colas from all the side branches too ,sounds easy but im sure its a pain lol ive never done it so i guess will both find out soon later bro.http://forum.grasscity.com/groups/auto-growers-association-d389-poison-dwarf-auto-grow.html http://forum.grasscity.com/absolute-beginners/391130-my-grow-post.html
sick plant, they looked so dark at the begining. and destroyer what do you feed? what brand? or do you have your makeup of food?

Hey Dave man, nice lookin grow bud! I took a quick look in yesterday but didn't have time to reply. One plant eh? She forced you to ditch one then? That's a real shame man. Everything with your grow looks very nice at the moment, I'd start gently training her now, and yes if you bought feminized seeds it's 95% likely to be a girl. Your plant looks better than mine, yours has much more secondary growth. I wouldn't worry about ferts for a while yet if I were you. Hope everythings goes great for ya!
Thanks for stopping by Tim, I swear that she is after getting bigger since yesterday bigger and bushier, did anyone ever grow Northern Lights before her rate of growth in the last 3 days is frightening, and yes she made me give her brother one, but before I gave the c**t my plant I gave her a drink of Jeyes Fluid and told him that I dont expect the plants to make it as they are both very sick LOL, I only told him that because I dont want him ratting me out. Hopefully I will post an update this weekend with a few pics, I think that the plant is after getting huge this week its leaves are reaching to both sides of the 10inch pot also had a bit of a worry regarding light but will post details over the weekend. Thanks for looking in.

Ok people sorry about the extra, extra long delay updating my journal but I'm here today so I am going to give out as much info as I can firstly here are a few pics of my plant hopefully a little lady now. I was looking at my plant last week on day 21 of my grow, when I thought that my plant was very small but very very bushy, so I decided to move her away from the lights surrounding her and I replaced my lights over the top of her, my thinking was to try and give her a gentle stretch which I think is working as she is atfer growing about 3 inches since I done this and she no longer looks small. She measures 16 inches from side to side as seen in pic 4 she is in a 10 inch pot. The spacing between the nodes looks acceptable to me now at about an inch, last week they were in and around 1cm apart hence my wanting to stretch her. Pics 1/2 and 3 are close ups of the stem and branches etc, I am thinking that it is still to early to try and determine sex so if you cast your experienced eye over them and let me know your thinking on sex I would be really grateful. In pic 5 I am showing you my only worry she has been like this for 9 days now without getting any worse, the leaf on the right is cut but I seen when I had a fan on them that this leaf was rubbing up against another leaf and getting cut so hopefully this is nothing major to worry about. Now on to me looking for advice, today is day 24 of my grow and I have given her some nutes on day 22 but in my error I gave her a full dose 15ml per 7 liters of water but I think she liked it as she is showing no signs of nute burn and is thriving and getting more new growth does this look correct to you? I wanted to lst her but now I am just going to let her grow normally as she is small for her age anyway, do you agree or not BTW she is 9 inches tall. As a novice I am worried that I might miss when to flower her and this is my biggest concern so I plan to start her on this Sunday when she will be 28 days old, please I need advice on this more than anything is this to soon or to early? Also last night for the first time I can smell her its like smelling an empty bag of grass and it is the sweetest smell ever. Once again I welcome any thoughts from you guys good or bad, just let me know if you spot anything. P.S if the pics didn't work properly I will edit them later today.
Alright Dave bud, how's it going? Things are looking good bro, I know what you mean about the smell man, it's fuckin lovely! I can't zoom the pics, but you'll hardly see sex until about a week into flowering. If she didn't react badly to full nutes then just keep going with 'em, but make sure to alternate with regular water. 28 days sounds fine to flower, go for it! Get a few full size pics up! hey dave.plants looking good.see a little nute burn on the tip of that leaf though.you can really flower when you want it really depends on the size you want at the end ,like me i have some skunk #1 going and ill flower at 2 weeks old and turn it into a dwarf skunk fast harvest with alot of small plants ,so basically the SOG method but if you want max yeald the rule is to wait till you see good stagered internodal spaceing that lets you know the plant is sexually mature enough to bud properly ,but like i said its really the growers descretion .

So I have just one question........... if you owned this plant would you be happy enough to go ahead and flower her this Sunday? also am I right in saying that on Sunday if I decide to flower I must switch lighting to 2700k bulbs on a 12/12? hey man.yeah shes plenty big enough you say shes 12 inches then the stretch will probably make her around 2 feet or better so youll get a good harvest from that size .looking kill man .
I like it too man, don't worry about the brown tips, it could be a bit of nute burn, but it's not too bad, my plants are full of brown spots, light burns etc. but they're still doing fine. Sunday sounds good for flowering, and no there's no sign of sex on your girl yet. Did the plant you gave to yer man die?
Fooking amazing Tim the plant I gave her brother is still alive he transplanted it new soil etc and gave it plenty of water and it is still alive, he told me that it is smaller than mine by far but still going, I had to tell him I done the same thing as he did as I told him at the time both plants were sick, LOL still I'm promised a good smoke from it when its done. No sign of sex yet, I thought so, but here's hoping. Talk to you soon.
Dub, all seems well with your grow. As Destroyer says, it is up to your discretion as to when to force flower. Since you are not using Mh or HPS, I would suggest early flowering since cfls don't have the same light penetration as those high output lights! Keep up the good work!
