Im looking to buy a 300W Dual Spectrum CFL to grow a single AK47 plant but wanted to know if dual spectrum CFL lights have a red / orange color because the person i may buy it off doesn't know whether or not it is but is convinced it is because of the red / orange tinge.
just check the Kelvin number and look at the light spectrum chart online to see where that bulb stands (which colors of the spectrum fall under that number). From my personal experience I can tell you that 150W cfl bulb (actual wattage) will heat up 3x3x6 grow tent with poor ventilation very fast to unacceptably high levels and heat control with such bulbs is a pain in the ass(you can not attach inline fan to it...) . Air cooled HID is the way to go-better results , better heat control,but more money to invest....
