Hello to every one in the forums, I have been coming here for two years to educate myself on led lights and various other topics. Coming soon... I will be running a dual grow off. Two separate rooms. One room will be 3 Mars-Hydro 144x5 lights vs a 1,000 watt hps. Actual wattage from the wall will be around 945 watts vs 1,000. The other room will be 1 Mars 1200 watt full spectrum vs. 1 600 watt hps. Finishing up set up now. I will start posting photos soon.
Very interesting. I have seen some nice mars grows but I don't think an it will beat an hps. I will sub, very interested to see. Sade's outdoor Bigfoot territory grow
I will be having samples tested after for potentcy. I am running two sativa dominant hybrids , and both strains love led lights, as well as hps. Definitely had strains that did not respond but these: LSD by Barney farms Gorilla Glue #4. Explode under led. My cheese loves hps. Past results between the Mars and hps have been similar but never separated the lights. Always grew with my led in the middle.
Subbed up to see the results. Here was a great comparative grow with different model LEDs but with different 1000w HPS. There's another video you'll probably find in the related that shows yield results. "The world is in your hands, Mine are in the dirt."
I saw that video. I believe those leds are custom built. The best leds you can get are self built. Sade's outdoor Bigfoot territory grow
No actually. These are on the market. They're expensive though. SPYDR 1200 GROW-MAX Spectrum "The world is in your hands, Mine are in the dirt."
ya wtvr, if you really believe in that product buy some and do your own journal. Seriously dude. Get a life. Ty Sara, happy 420 to you too! i know I started my morning off right!
So my 3 144's showed up a day early yesterday. Such a great design and no wasted energy on lenses at all, love these. mars-hydro is where it's at! Any lurkers should note that smoke Sara can more than likely beat Amazon and eBay so hit her up. I spent the day transplanting - 50/50 coco coir and perlite. My Mars 1200 should be here early next week or there abouts. until then I'll keep vegging the girls. Gonna try to get the 144s up tomorrow and go straight to veg. Placing them where I can go straight into bloom. Update soon
Oh nice. Most diy led builds look very similar. Just the easiest way to have it without putting a box around it I guess. Makes it easier for the heat sinks to cool off. I plan on going into the world of mh/hps and leaving behind led. I just hate the initial sticker price of led unit. Then when it breaks have to buy whole new one. Granted they last a damn long time. If I ever get led again in the future I might actually go mars. Doesn't hurt your wallet and honestly great results for price. Sade's outdoor Bigfoot territory grow
Excuse me? I was just showing that there's been a comparative with other LEDs. It would be like me linking you to a similar experiment as a fellow scientist. Get a life? I actually grow with the Mars hydro.. Which I have a journal for... LOL. So please tell me again which product I believe in? Thanks for the tip though. Grow up, lol. Rude. "The world is in your hands, Mine are in the dirt."
Definitely. Easiest and cheapest. I'm sure you could DIY that spider unit for half that cost. Oh really? Yeah they can be pricey. But the Mars hydro works great for the money. Idk why that guy got salty like I was in here advertising another light.... When I use the Mars hydro and swear by it and always link people to it. Lol. Yeah LEDs are supposed to last 10X longer than your average bulb. Key word is supposed to, though. Lol. "The world is in your hands, Mine are in the dirt."
Yes rude, I am new to this. Thought you were high jacking the thread. My apologies... I have seen the par results that show the spider led to be exceptional. My logical brain says you have a bunch of great choices in the $2500 range. The spydr 1200 by bml. Apache tech at600 ( ya know the ones nasa buys ). The new hp4s by Alta which I linked a really cool video to a while ago . I'm sure they all grow terrific medicine. But for the same $2500 not one of those lights will compete with the 9 Mars hydro 144s I could get - and still have a couple hundred bucks in my pocket. I have a friend that spent $7k on lush lighting LEDs (7 panels) The rep lied his ass off and GUARANTEED 2 pounds per panel. I tried to steer him towards Mars-hydro but so many people out there have to believe more expensive lights mean better lights. I went and seen these in person and felt awful for this friend. These lights weren't any where near as bright as my Mars 1200. And twice the price! Now a lot of people say these are cheap lights that fail. Well I had a small issue with one of my units and talked to smoke sara. They stood beyond there product and fixed the issue. So I have less expensive lights that are brighter than shit, have the most honest marketing out there right now AND stand beyond there product! This made purchasing more a no brainier for me. I also have a Mars 300 (180 watts from the wall ) with the 3 watt diodes I purchased at the same time - a little over a year and a half ago - running perfectly and still super bright
This is a link to an led light bar show down, for me it really put things into perspective and if you have time check it out . Think it's osram, Phillips, Cree, and one other led light out there - pretty cool. And really demonstrates how those focusing lenses (while raising par in the middle) take a lot of light away from your canopy.
Funny, I remember when I was new to things I was the opposite of rude. No. No hijacking here. No worries. I was merely showing another comparative that also shows 3 different brand HPS fixtures as well. Very educational and informative. My first sentence in here was "subbed up to see the results." I posted it to show a comparative with expensive LEDs since you're doing it with cheaper ones (in terms of price). It would be cool to see the difference in terms of quality. I agree that a lot of people waste money when it comes to LEDs and a majority of them are way overpriced for their quality of output. I was really skeptical about the Mars until I came across the Mars grow family thread with over 20,000 replies and testimonials. I figured I had some money to spare for the 300 and I'm in love and I'll definitely be getting more. "The world is in your hands, Mine are in the dirt."
Lmao. 2 pounds per panel. What a dick head marketer though. Most hydro stores I go to will straight up tell you the honest truth. Usually tell you the cheaper option that is just as good as the expensive one. Sade's outdoor Bigfoot territory grow
