Yo, so i have a decent point and shoot camera and ive been taking alot of pictures lately when im baked mostly of wildlife and nature (rivers,trees...) and im planning on making the switch to a nice DSLR for better macros and better res and quality but really have no idea what to buy and am on a budget of hopefully under 300USD new or used if i cant get a good one for that much ill save up for a longer time and buy somthing for 500USD any input is welcome, thank you!
raise you budget. for a new entry level dslr in canada its atleast 700 (including kit lens, cf cards, all the shit you need) but look online first, as long as the camera was taken care of they dont really depreciate in value that much.
Check eBay if you're only looking to spend 300-500, here's a link: New and used DSLR, Digital Cameras on eBay.ca
Some entry level dslr's like the Canon Rebel XS and Nikon D3000 are on the cheaper side. I think right around $500 new. On ebay, craigslist, etc... I'm sure you can find yourself a better deal, perhaps even a better camera for around the same price.
I have a Canon Rebel XS that I got for $450 USD. I love it. The lense is a different size than my SLR, so I got an adapter ring to use the filters I had already. If you're wanting to do macros, especially if you're baked, get a tripod, too.
yea, with that budget, look on ebay. don't be afraid to get something that's even 3-4 years old if it's in great shape. it'll still take better pics than a point and shoot and you won't have noob stuff like live view to use as a crutch.
