Drying temps

  1. Gonna be using a seperate grow tent in the basement to do my drying. My basement is pretty cool, about 67-68 degrees during the day. Should I go ahead and use a little heat to get it into the 70's or just go with the ambient temp in the upper 60's?

  2. Temp isn't as important as humidity below 70%. If humidity is much over 70% it won't dry fast enough to prevent mold in the center of the big buds. As soon as the small popcorn starts to feel crispy I get it all off the stems and cut into thumb sized nugs.

This goes back and forth between this lid and a 5 gallon bucket to slow the dry. Every other day I dump the contents out and spread them around. The humidity gauge drops a couple of points every 2 days until it's stable at 62%.

Then it'll get jars with a 62% Boveda pack.

  3. The temps you have naturally are good. If your using a tent are you using a exhaust filter? If so no addtional air flow is needed, if not then get a small fan on low power to circulate the air around the tent not pointing directly at the buds. Your temps are good but the big thing is the humidity needs to be stable at around 50%. You will need a cool air humidifier if humidity levels are below 50% and a dehumidifier if your humidity is above that. Give it 5 to 10 days for a good dry depending if you dry trim or wet trim. I cut large fan leafs off and leave sugar leaves on for during so it takes longer for a more even dry. Some people wet trim everything prior to drying. Its personal preference and drying conditions that decides on whether you want to do wet or dry trim.

  4. Checked the humidity in the tent and it's at 64% without any kind of airflow right now. I was planning on hooking up an exhaust fan to suck air out at the top and to have one of the air vents open at the bottom. If that doesn't lower humidity I have big dehumidifier in the basement that I can run to lower the humidity down here.
But at least I don't have to worry about the temp so that's good to know.
