bud on chopped girl is dry and not soft and fluffy........i chopped and hung to dry in a dark closet 40% humidity and 70 or so degrees......does the soft and fluffy part come during curing or did i do something wrong?
70 degrees is nice but you want very low humidty. If you have decent airflow blowing across the plants then the OPs setup is probably fine.

Nice read man. Found that article pretty interesting. I've never known the real wayy to water cure. I'd be kind of sketched out to just throw my freshly manicured nugz in a pot of water. May be worth trying out on a small amount though.
Bullshit, as long as you have good air circulation you'll never have a problem, I just got through drying 2 plants at 45-50% humidity and there just fine. Thats correct, however, indirect light will not harm them so its not necessary to keep them in total darkness either.
