Drug Test Temperature Question

Discussion in 'Marijuana Consumption Q&A' started by ViciousCircle88, Jun 17, 2019.

  1. Hey guys, new poster here. First I would like to say thank you for creating what looks to be a stable & reliable place/community for smokers to come together and share information, stories, experiences etc. If this thread is against any rules or in the wrong place, I apologize. Also, although I am starting off my GC forum experience with a question, I do plan on posting here semi regularly. I have been smoking for half of my life (I am a 30 year old Male from IL and started smoking at 15) so to see the changes in the laws recently and how much more socially accepted smoking is now than it was when I was younger is AMAZING! Now, with that out of the way, on to my question.

I recently got a new job with an Airport, and was sent today to take my pre employment drug screen. As the laws have not yet changed in IL (and even when they do, employers still will likely prohibit the use of marijuana even if its medical from my understanding) I decided to use what has always worked for me in the past on 2 or 3 occasions and purchased "X Stream" Synthetic Urine. After strapping the handwarmer to the bottle, the temperature strip was reading 95 degrees and felt warm...so I placed the bottle in my boxer briefs/waistband and took my test. The lady at the counter was extremely rude & after I was in the bathroom for only maybe 30 seconds she was already knocking on the door and asking "are you done?". I transferred the urine into the cup and put a little in the toilet (unsure why they say dont flush, but i wanted to be safe. what if the donor only squeezes out barely enough for the cup and doesnt even pee into the toilet?). After a moment of maybe 20 more seconds I exited the bathroom and gave her my specimen. On my drug test form, it said acceptable temp was 90-100 degrees. My sample read 91-92 in the cup, but the lady said "this is not within temp. you can provide another sample if you'd like but if you leave its an automatic fail and you have 3 hours". After she said this, about another minute or two had passed and the lady used an infared thermometer/fluke gun which I could see still said 90.9 degrees, which was in the range deemed acceptable on my employers form. So I said okay, initialed the sample (may have been a mistake but I didnt want to appear guilty or agitated) and left my keys, wallet, phone and hat sitting outside the bathroom on their counter and returned to the waiting area. I drank about half of a bottle of water to make it look good lol, and about 20 minutes later I could feel the hand warmer warming up even more, so I provided a 2nd sample. Luckily I had JUST ENOUGH left in the bottle to hit the required amount...and this time I immediately opened the door and gave her the sample. This specimen was within range, and I was provided 2 forms stating the first sample collected was at 1:57pm but was not within temp range. The 2nd form said 2:19 and said this sample was within range. Both samples are being sent to the lab. My question is, has this ever happened to anyone, and if so what was the outcome? Will the 2 samples show the same levels of everything and be suspicious? Will the first one DQ me from employment? They did allow me to provide another sample which as I stated, I did without leaving and met the requirements. What do you seasoned veterans think will happen now? I will update after I find out as to answer the question for anyone in a similar position...but I am nervous and really need this job! Thanks in advance guys, hope everyone is enjoying their summer!
