  1. I am looking for some good novels to read. And would like them to be related to abuse/ use of drugs.

Please list some that you have read...

Some I have already read are: Fear and Loathing in Las vegas, Go ask Alice, Crank, and Hole in My Life.

  2. The heroin diaries

  3. so it's actually just two essays, but it's definitely a good read!

The Doors of Perception & Heaven and Hell by Aldous Huxley.

door of perception is dude's account on the drug mescalin.. interesting stuff.

  4. Intoxication by Richard K. Siegel, PhD.

  5. A Scanner Darkly is absolutely one of my favorites.

And of course, Naked Lunch. A classic.

  6. Hell yes doors of perception.

Ever ead brave new world, jaded?

  7. I've read brave new world, its pretty good...pretty wierd, but defenantly a good concept, not really drug related (except for soma)

  8. oh i know, it was off topic, just asking jaded if she read it because shes familiar with alduous huxleys other works.

  9. word...have you read 1984?, its a lot like brave new world, and its really good

  10. 1984 is a very good book.

    it's a great book

it has the straight shit about every single drug ever to be discovered

has quotes from people describing their experiences

and other tid bits of interesting info

i should know, i nearly copied the entire thing in detention during high school

  12. no, not yet! started it, but it was crunch time at school, and then i had to return it.. and i've been forgetting to pick it up again.

thanks for the reminder! :) haha.

  13. LSD, My problem child by Albert Hoffman (the creator of lsd)
I haven't read it or anything, but i know it exists :p

And of course there's the original version of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

  14. [IMG]

One of my personal favourties. It basically covers everything about marijuana. It has types of joints, baked goods recipes, history, experiences, types of weed and hash... it's just awesome! Definitely check it out.

  15. word. 1984 is one of my favourite books.

even if it's not exactly drug related, i still recommend it. :D

tweak- about a guy addicted to crack and heroin

beautiful boy- the father's perspective of the dude in tweak about his son's addiction and helping him through it and his rehab process

    ohyeahh, since 1984 came up
you should read Brave New World- a lot of drug references in that book, espeically Soma. basically, its a society where everyone takes drugs because they want to be happy.

  17. I think i am going to start that tweak book tomorrow.
    Sounds very interesting.

    Thanks for the recommendation.
