Drooping Purple Bullet Auto

Discussion in 'Sick Plants and Problems' started by 918AutoGrower, May 18, 2018.

  1. My purple bullet (pictured below) is about 45 days old. It started showing signs of flowering on day 41. So in the last 3-4 days, the bud sites are really shooting up, making them much easier to train. It has been a very short and bushy plant but despite the short stalk, it has been pulled over from the very beginning.

I am using an HLG 260watt (2x 288 boards) running full wattage but it has only been in my tent for a few days. Prior to that I was using a 300watt LED light with a Releadro COB 400watt LED light (both 22-24” from canopy).

It is in Fox Farms Ocean Forest with 30% perlite. I water every 4-5 days — I don’t have a set schedule. I water when the soil feels dry and the container feels lighter (it’s in a 5-gallon Lowe’s bucket with holes drilled all around it and plenty on the bottom for good drainage).

I have NOT given this plant ANY nutes yet....just pH’d water. My water is around 6.2 - 6.8ish. It’s been hard to tell because I’ve been using the drops to determine pH. I just ordered a nice digital pH meter yesterday. That should help a lot I think.

Temps stay between 75 - 78 and in the afternoon it can get up to 82 but never hotter than that. Humidity fluctuates but typically stays in the 40-50% range.

I think that should be all the info I can think of. Help?!

    1. Why is my girl drooping?
    2. Is it time to feed her? I have Tiger Bloom, Fish fertilizer (5-1-1) and some Advanced Nutrients BLOOM (1-3-4).

Here is a picture I took just after I pulled all the tops down that I could. This was taken earlier today.

  2. No one? I just watered my Purple Bullet and gave her a very small feeding (1st feeding) of 1.5ml of Advanced Nutrients BLOOM (1-3-4). She is drooping pretty bad. Hopefully she just needed a drink!

The other two autos (Jack Herer and Blueberry) have some really funky twisting going on. The bud sites just look mangled. Anybody?

  3. Looks like possible P deficiency along with some others. I think you're going deficient. You've probably gotten close to exhausting that soil. Mix a little fish fertilizer with the advanced nutrients bloom and feed until you get some runoff out of the pot. You'll probably have to bottle feed from here on out. Try to keep your npk ratio you're feeding with about 1-2-2. Not too much nitro. The p&k are about twice as important as far as amounts. Just add half the amount of fish fert or less and mix it with the advanced bloom. That should get you close.

That's also a powerful light. Some of the pics look like some light bleaching on top. I also run two of those qb260's with 304 boards in my bloom area. I just transplanted a few plants and put them in there to veg for an extra week or so before flip. The day after I put them under the qb260's they were all droopy and wilted. They didn't like that powerful light at first. I had to up the feed rate and raise the lights a little.

With young plants I'll run my qb260 around 24" or so. I creep it down to close to 18 if the plant can stand it but sometimes plants like quite the light distance to these powerful leds. I've ran up to 30" or more to keep some small plants happy when they first see the bloom lights.

  4. I fed the purple bullet last night, but only gave it 1.5ml of the Advanced Nutrients BLOOM, which isn't much. Would it be okay to go ahead and water her again today with some of the fish fertilizer, or should I wait?

On a side note, the Jack Herer was exhibiting some of the same symptoms as the purple bullet, and I gave her some fish fertilizer and Advance Nutrients BLOOM, and she seems to be perking up some. I think you may be right. I think the purple bullet just doesn't have any food.
