Hey all, Need some advice on what my problem could be. The environment is as follows: aeroponic indoor grow LED light 18/6 cycle OG Kush Strain 3 weeks old Sensi Grow nutes PH: regulated daily to 5.7 PPM: currently 225 Water temperature : 84 deg F (a little warm but not much I can do) No bugs - verified using 60-100x illuminated microscope The pump that sprays roots is plugged into light cycle, so it turns off during the 6 hours of darkness. Notice the roots in the pictures, odd they are so dark. The new ones are white as expected. I just drained system and filled it with RO water. No nutes added yet, figurred I'd wait to hear from you guys. Any help would be appreciated.
Make that air pump run constant. Run nutes at 1/2 strength and increase to 3/4 or full on next res change.
Hey man, thanks for the reply. Its not actually an air pump, just a water pump that pressurizes the PVC and then sprays the roots. I orginally had it running 24 hours but thought maybe the plants were getting water saturated or not getting enough oxygen. I will return to 24 hour spray. Think I should add an air pump and infuse the bottom of the resevoire with air bubbles? Running nutes 1/2 strength now.
Ok. You got a mister type set up. Sorry I didn't notice that.... My advice may be wrong. Again sorry for not noticing...
This is what 'we' use to clone, a diy bubbler, best kept going 24 hours/7 days non stop, brown roots always a bad sign, better for you to go coco or hempy pot soon, save you a lot of hassle, but yes the more O2 the better, feed must be slow and easy like 25% of what you intended to start increasing 10-20% per week. Consider foilar feeding initially as an experiment, will save you much heart ache
@ vostok : thanks for the advice. Cloning is actually done in a different environment. A bubbler like you mentioned. Specifically its an aerogarden. works great. This spray/mist system is meant for growth and bloom. As you can see, I made this mist system and I am not at all opposed to changing it. I suppose I use the hydroton clay balls just because that is what I am accustomed to. But I do hate them. Cleaning is a bitch. Would you mind sharing some advice on a better grow medium for my root misting solution, I'm not familiar with a hempy pot. Coco has always been a consideration and I am now going to switch. Like today. I'm also going to add some air bubbles to the res today. But if I'm going to redesign, I should redesign the top too. Any advice is very much appreciated.
ohhh one more thing....the brown roots. I'm thinking they got infected during transplant. Pretty sure they touched the top of the container at one point. oops. The new roots look good. Can I just cut off the old brown nasty stuff? I'm afraid whatever is wrong with them will spread to the new white roots.
