Drooping and Yellow spots

  1. Ok, the so the leaves on my plant are drooping. Could this be because I am overwatering it or underwatering it? Also, one of the leaves has these little yellow spots with rust colored rings outlining them. What is this?

  2. Can you take pictures?
Droop is usually from under or over watering. You can tell the plant needs watering when you stick your finger at least an inch deep in the soil and it is dry. Also, you can lift the pot up and take note of the weight. If it is light you need water, if it is heavy, they are wet.

  3. how's your airflow?

  4. Also, lack of light can cause droop. What kind of lights you sportin?

  5. r u watering w/ the lights on?, water on the leaves can burn the leaf

  6. Well, leaves are still drooping, well, they are curling. And the one leaf still has yellow spots and is yellowing. The plant is a month old, i think it's time to give it nutes.

  7. Ok. Here are pictures of my baby girl. I have 3 100w daytime CFLs on her. They aren't that close, so heat isn't an issue I don't think. Well, look at the pictures and tell me what you think.

  8. you should have started feeding 2 weeks ago. give em 1/4 or maybe even 1/2 strength. once again, hows your airflow.

  9. airflow is fine, i'm gonna go out and buy nutes right now. can't afford fox farm, wish i could, but i'm gonna buy some tomato nutes since i keep reading what's good for tomatoes is good for MJ.

  10. so, i just chedked the pH. It's perfect. Between 6.0 and 6.8. So, I took a gallon of distilled water, and added 1/4 tbspoon (it says to add 1 tbspoon per gallon), and, since the soil is still wet from last watering, just watered it with only 1cup of the water with the new nutes to hopefuly jump start it and hold it over till next watering. Keeping my fingers crossed.

  11. you should be o.k. if all you can afford is tomato nutes then use them. it's a thousand times better than nothing!!!

  12. Yeah, it's a 1:2:1 ratios (12%, 24%, 12%). I remember reading about that ratio somewhere, so it sounds good. It also has chelated metal ions which I know will help. Cellular and Molecular bio pays off, hahaha.

  13. Before you go out buying nutes, please let us know what soil your using... leaf edges are curling upwards a bit, thats a sign of heat stress and the thing on your leaf looks like scorch mark from the leaf touching the clf.

  14. So the soil I'm using is Scott's potting soil with added phosphorous. The temperature in the closet is quite nice actualy. Don't feel any heat, but maybe I should move the lights farther away, I don't know. My camera sucks, so those pics are horrid. Those things that look like scorch marks, when you look at them with the naked eye, they are these yellow spots with rust colored rings around them. Also, the same leaf that has that is also turning yellow. Some other leaves have a little bit of yellow if you look real closely, but nothing like that. Also, that's the only old leaf with yellow. The new ones have yellow, but not all of them, and again, you have to look really closely. I was lookin at the plant, and I don't see where the leaves are curling up. The definatly are curling down. They are begining to curl under themselves. I value your opinion greatly dier, and growbot you are very helpful also. Dier, if there is any other info I could give you to help out, I will jump right on that.

  15. im talking about the Jagged edges of the leafs they are curling upwards, thats a sign of heat stress.

Yellowing of leaves is N deficiency... I would not add tomatoe food as the rust colored spots on the leaves could be Phosphorous burn (i know it very well when i added to much of one nutrient on one of my grows, it almost looks like someone took a lighter and scrotched the leaf. If this is what it looks like then its Phospherous burn...

goto the plant store and just buy some Schults Plant food plus, thats safe enough to use at this point to rectify any problems without overdoing it with Tomatoe plant food, which i dont believe in at all becuase really thats what Miricle grow was first made for, and we all know what miricle grow does to plants.

  16. Yeah, i've heard baaaaddd stories about miracle gro. I didn't buy tomato plant food. I ended up buying an all purpose nutes for all kind of plants. I'll get that Schults plant food plus. I'm just wondering though, howcome the phospherous burn didn't show up till so late? And howcome it's only on one leaf? Oh well, you are a huge help Dierwolf.
