driving Stoned!!!!

Discussion in 'Experienced Cannabis Enthusiasts' started by carrascopa, Dec 11, 2006.

  1. Im pretty sure all of us do it! I know I do, but i was hoping to get some opinions on the effects of driving impaired on marjane as opposed to the effects of driving drunk!

My Girlfriend is going through a DUI school course right now and is scared about me smoking and driving now! haha. I keep telling her it is nothing like driving drunk, but she insists that 1.5 blunts of good is equivelant to blowing a .15 on a breathelizer????? I dun know what their teaching them, but I feel no impairment while driving stoned..

    THOUGHTS!!!????? **POST THEM**

  2. it's never a good idea to drive while intoxicated, especially if you are a lightweight. with that said, driving drunk is a lot worse than driving stoned.

  3. I love driving high. There was a video posted on GC the other day that summed it up nicely. Whereas drinking removes inhibitions and gives you a feeling of invincibility, you're more aware of your altered state when you're high, so you can take precautions when it comes to your behavior.

I'll admit there have been some times where I got on the road and didn't realize how stoned I was. Driving at night in the rain on the highway, for one. I could barely see the lane dividers and I was scared shitless.

Most of the time, though, I love it. I'm usually going exactly the speed limit, or under, and when I'm stoned it's like I'm constantly remembering things I learned in driver's ed.

"Okay, stop before the white line...wait three seconds...already got your turn signal going..."

Plus, there's no better combination. You're sitting still, yet moving, I cruise in a state park so there's plenty of beautiful scenery and no cars for miles, and with some tunes cranking, it's bliss.

  4. We just got a first decent snow of the season so me and my friends got nice a baked and went and did donuts. so much fun.

  5. It has alot to do with your tolerance, the quality of the weed, if you ate or not, and how good of a driver you are in the first place. I've smoked some weed before and I wasnt even in the right shape of mind to walk down a hallway, let alone drive off. Other times, just smoking on mids when I had my tolerance, I'd drive around all day and do much better than when I was 100% sober. In fact, the first week I had my liscense, I was high every day. I do better stoned because I obey the speed laws out of fear, and I always double check my mirrors. I seem to be a bit careless when I'm "sober", I'll also be more tense and in a hurry. Its like a race to get where I need to be. But when I'm high its just no big deal...relaxed, go with the flow, I'll get there when I get there. I try to avoid driving high though...I mean if I ever got in a wreck it would suck even worse, even if it wasnt my fault.

Lets just say that I've never almost wrecked high, but I come close to wrecking every now and then when I'm sober. And I've drove around stoned ALOT.

Just do what you're comfortable with, some people just cant pull it off. Be able to recognize that and keep your ass off the road. If you find yourself being more careful and driving like a grandma or something, then keep on keepin on. :D

  6. driving stoned at night (without traffic) is my favorite thing to do, ever.

  7. I wouldnt reccomend driving stoned if you are a beginner. I remember times back in the day when i would stop at the yellow sign that says theres a stop sign up ahead, then Id be confused as to why there were two stop signs within 50 feet of eachother. But as your tolerance builds up, the affect weed has on you changes, and it becomes much easier to focus, though not quite as fun. Compared to alcohol though, weed has almost the opposite affect on the brain. While alcohol causes you to loose your inhibitions, think compulsively, and act more reckless than you would sober, weed allows you to think through everything, if not over think it, it also makes you more cautious, which, unturn, causes most people drive slower when high.

  8. First off, I think driving impaired depends on the person. For me while stoned, I can drive perfect and actually drive a lot safer. I use my flicker and don't change lanes constantly to pass people. I've drove drunk a few times and never will again.

  9. Driving stoned is ok man.
I probly drive safer when i am stoned cuz when im not I rally around like a race drive but when im blazed i drive slow n take care cause im pooing my pants incase the pigz pull me over

  10. just dont get too stoned or you'll end up waiting for the stop sign to turn green
    (true story)

  11. Totally agree on the driver's Ed part. I don't like driving totally baked out of my mind - but anything under that I tend to tune in better and know exactly what I'm doing. I follow EVERY rule imaginable. Driving drunk .... that's just stupid =\. Well, I don't like to, that's my opinion. I'd much rather drive high. :smoking::smoking:

  12. Im a fine driver stoned but I look at it like this. When I have kids someday I would rather have a sober driver driving down the street rather then a stoned one regardless if you say your a good driver stoned. Drive stoned when necessary.

  13. LMAO good one

  14. When I got legalized I asked my doctor if I could drive on it ( i've never smoked before) and he said "Yup! you can! and you can go to school on it!" I started laughing my ass off.
    my 2 cents :p :smoking:

ps) he also said that I should smoke before getting into the car. he said that if the cop smelled marijuana in the car he can charge me a DUI

  15. i drove the other day when i was REALLY high and my depth perception was off. i just let my friend drive after that because i knew i was too fucked up and couldnt do it. but today i got high and drove and was fine. so it depends on your tolerance and how potent the herb is

  16. I live in a nice wooded area of my town so I love going on burners at the beginning or middle of the day to see all the scenery and such.

  17. that's why i missed oregon. all of the trees and the rain. it was a lot of fun. it feels cool being in the car.

  18. i second that

  19. before i realized how stupid it was i drov e stoned everyday for about 2 years...i still do it but not as much..even though im DAMN good at it

i got pulled over stoned off my ass couple months ago...officer smelled the weed...gave me a DUI, which i passed (was damn easy)..so i dont really drive baked unless i have to

  20. i did the exact same the other day, have you heard of tray sliding?
its where you put taco bell trays under backwheels of a front wheel drive car, and then lock the ebrake,a nd floor it and do 720s and 1080s, and me and buddy toked a fuck loud out and went out in a parkinglot that was totally iced over,a nd we went and did all that fuckin shit

tray sliding on ice is about 10x crazier then donuting on ice ;)
