Drinking on the job?

  1. My husband and I are in a very heated discussion, so we decided to bring it to the blades...

He thinks theres nothing wrong with drinking at work, me on the other hand think thats fucking retarded!!!

what do you guys think?! Yay or Nay

  2. It all depends on the person and what he/she believes. At my work your allowed to chug a 750 ml bottle as long as you finish all your projects. It depends on your work.

  3. Is he an alcoholic? Does he actually do work when he's drunk at work? In general no you probably shouldn't go to work drunk, maybe high but not drunk

  4. Depends on the job and even then you can't get hammered. Maybe a few drinks for a nice little buzz but only if it isn't going to interfere with your responsibilities/typical work activities and how well you do them. I probably wouldn't do it unless i had a very laid-back job or work place.

  5. He's a security officer and works late nights and is alone 99.9% of the time.

I think if anything happened he would need to be on his A game, ya know? :smoke:

  6. Your husband must really hate either his life or his job.

  7. Both, I think.
    lawl.

He said now it was only 2 beers so that changes the story now.

  8. No one should drink on the job.. especially a security officer.....

  9. well...at least he won't feel too much pain when he has to handle some business..

But if you work in a bar the #1 rule is to not drink on the job haha

  10. I'm allowed to drink at work, but refuse to.

I simply dislike alcohol and the ones who consume it.

  11. If you can't make it through an x hour shift without a drink then there's something wrong with you.
Drinks should be reserved for the end of the day when you've actually accomplished something.

  12. even 2 beers on secruity job isnt good id think

  13. If your fellow employees can tell you've been drinking, then you have had too much and I disapprove.

However if nobody can tell and your efficiency or ability isn't negatively affected, go for it. Hell, I mean if you're able to come to work fucking hammered and still maintain your shit and choose to do so, more power to you. This applies to certain jobs but other ones this wouldn't be okay (emergency responders, doctors, etc). I mean if you have to come to work drunk you probably are an alcoholic and/or you should look for a new job, but I personally don't think it's an employer's decision to decide what state of mind their employees are in, assuming it doesn't have a negative effect on any aspect of the workplace.

  14. my dad told me once about this dude that was an engineer and worked in my dads major petroleum company, he was an alcoholic and was drunk everyday, all day, didnt talk to anobody, but always had his work on time so nobody fucked with him.
so as long as you do your damn job, that should be alright.

  15. my work lets me drink and smoke weed

  16. My step dad is a alcoholic & has been going to work for 40+ years at the same job ( ups or usps ) idk the one that is white & has blue aha ... He's one of there best workers , they know he's always drunk , but they don't care cuz he gets his work done

  17. depends on the security job....imagine the lawsuit if he ended up beating some guy up and the guy sued saying he was drunk....however i can definitely see the appeal in having a few beers while staring at security cameras in some box office....not every day or even every week though just occasionally

  18. did you really mean to say that?
