whats everyones feelings on it being 21? does it really bother you? or can you get booze anyway reason i bought it up over here is because its 18 over here and you do see loads of young(er) people drinking..
It was 18 in louisiana for a LOOOONG TIME. But the federal government told the louisiana state government that they would not provide funding for their roads unless they changed their policy towards underage drinking. It is now 21 in louisiana, but state officials don't really enforce the law that harshly reason # 5,465,325 that I hate the federal government..
It's pretty easy to get alcohol if you're underage though, when I was like 16 my friends cousin always used to get it for us and shit and people could always jack shit from their parents. 21 is really retarded in my opinion though.
18????? Holy crap...I always thought it was 16, like most of Europe... I grew up in Germany, we get beer at 15, wine and until 20% at 16 and the rest at 18...and as everyone, we start a few years before we're allowed to... I was on an exchange in France at 16...and the father didn't even ask if I wanted wine with dinner...he just told me that was an exquisit one and so and so, and poured me a glass...every dinner...
my thoughts exactly i mean if its 21, and weed and other drugs are widely more availible/easier to get a hold what the fuck do they expect with people doing drugs and stuff..
i had at great time in germany at 16 stayed in dusseldorf and visted some good hip hop style night clubs which was a change, every one seemed to be a lot nicer to younger people aswell(mid teens up to mid twentys and such) dont really get that inm the pubs i visit over here..
It's interesting because the europeans have it completely right on this one. Drinking alcohol is looked down upon in the states to some extent, no one wants to talk about it. Because of this most kids do it without parental consent or guidance. Most europeans, however, drink with their parents, (from what I understand and from what skinner just said) and begin to understand proper social behavior while inhebriated. They think they are helping the problem by raising the drinking age, when in fact they are promoting kids to drink in unproper settings with no guidance, and no one to look to for proper social behavior, those are my thoughts on the subject...
Haha...we drink at work... When I was 16 or 17, I worked night shift (printing) and the foreman came to me at about 4am, gave me some bucks and sent me to the gas station to get some beer. "get the ones in the back, they're colder" he used to say, haha...i got the beer and he always gave one to me. So I stood there, working the hot machines with a nice cold brew Another job I had actually had a soda machine with Cola Fanta Water Beer Beer (different kind) Beer (another kind) And you hardly find a sober construction worker after 11 am..
WOW, I wish it was like that over here......why did we get the boat full of puritan assholes.....(I think that's greg proops) oh man, I tried an awesome czcheck republic beer during christmas, I think it was called staroponmen, or some shit like that, ever had it>?
I'm 18 now and live in Illinois and it is extremely easy to get beer/alcohol. They really don't card here as long as you know were to go (shady liquor stores or small gas stations). Some gas stations will even ask for ID just so that the video camera shows them checking for it, and then even if your ID says you're not 21 yet, they still give you the booze. I have gotten rejected at a lot of places though, but once you get to know the people that work at a certain place its really easy to walk in and buy.
I made a fake out of an oklahoma drivers licence when I was 18, got turned down, maybe 3 times. It was kind of funny, cause every time it got turned down it just inspired me to make a better one.. I never had a problem getting alcohol.
