I know this should probably be in a different section but I want people to see it! Soo... last week I decided to cut a branch that had about 10% amber trichs.I trimmed the fan leaves and whatever leaves were sticking off the main bud. I hung it in a cardboard box with holes poked in the sides of it and let it hang until yesterday when the stems were dry enough to snap(6days).and then last night I put them in a curing jar(kerr) around 7pm and at 7am I opened it for ten minutes and sealed it again My question is... what visual changes should occur while curing... does it get more dense? If it smells like grass now will it start to smell more like it should after the cure?
no worries. It'll smell like wet grass for a week or so. It won't get denser. It'll actually lighten up in weight. Color may get a lil darker but not much. Curing will bring out flavor and smell. And the trichs may advance to maybe 15 to 20 % amber if ur at 10 now. atleast you are drying and curing properly. Most want immediate results. And as cliche as it is... It's like a wine... Yes it may be ripe, but age brings out the best in the fruit.
Thanks for the reply..its so hard to wait but I want it to be right.I haven't even cut any sample buds or anything. this is my very first grow and I want it to be right when it finally comes time to test! I just picked up an 8th, hopefully by the time that is done it'll be ready
