Day 74 Flower

Well these babies went a little over the advertised 8 to 10 weeks of flower. The trichome heads were pretty amber when I finally chopped. Here are some pics of some of the buds. I can't wait to see what the final yield is on these babies, but I haven't grown buds this fat since my outdoor growing days.

Wow, my feelings are hurt. I thought I'd get some love for these babies.

Drying is coming along nicely. I'll let em hang for 3 days, afterwhich, I'll drop in brown bags for a while - about 4 days. I turn the dehumidifier on from time to time to keep the RH down to around 50%. It will drift up to 65% or so when its not on. I don't like keeping it on all the time because it causes the temps to go up.

It smokes great. About a week ago, I had some lower buds that got real heavy and bent over so I trimmed them off and hung n bagged em. I just smoked some this morning, not very tasty yet, but, wow, it gave a very nice buzz. Its easy going, relaxing, and its making me want to go for a long bicycle ride in the mountains. Oh, I will definitely keep posted. I am putting into brown bags this evening.

 

Yeah, I yielded 8 ounces. I checked the yield on all my grows, and this one was by far the best. Plus the weed is gorgeous. I will take some pics this morning. Thanks for visiting and commenting.

 

You know I was checking back thru my journal, and saw this early comment. I was impressed at how you were able to look at the pics and nail the harvest time.

I will take a pic of the total harvest today if I can get around to it. I have a little bit before I am going to sprout the AK48. I am going to get some preventive maintenance done around my house before I start another grow. Thanks for visiting.

 

Sorry I didn't post any sooner. Here are some Harvest Pics. I ended up with 7.75 OZ. I've given a little away, and smoked a little with wife and friends, but it still looks like a pretty good haul. Wish I'd taken pics of some of the really big buds priorprior to jarring them. Now I don't want to disturb the jars too much. As you can see in the bud pic, these babies are frosty and succulent. Even after just a week in the jars, it smokes nice and provides an upbeat buzz if you do one bong hit, 2 or more, and you get a bet zonked out, and it stays for a couple hours or more, but I usually can't wait that long, BTW, there seemed to be 2 distinct types of weed in this batch: one was green throughout with white tints and the other is covered with red hairs. I am not certain it was different phenos or entirely different strains altogether. No worries though, I like em both and variety is the spice of life.

Oh man, I am diggin it. I can' twait until its really cured in a month or so. Its going to be so tasty. I am going to get some work done around here for the next few weeks, and then I plan to drop the 5 AK48 seeds I just got from Nirvana. I am looking forward to getting it started. I think I will stay with the same program of just starting an entirely new journal.

 

I don't think so. I've been thinking about going with a perpetual garden kind of thing, but, right now, I would need at least another tent and light, and I am not ready to jump in with more money and a bigger footprint. Of course, I could cut some real time off and save about 50 bucks on every grow (seed cost). On the other hand, I enjoy the fact that I can do a completely different strain each time.
