  1. i have long hair and am a guy. i love long hair but i hat burning it. i think dreads wut keep hair out of my face and be much e-zer to deal with. not says getting em is going to be e-z, but over all ill just have to mess with it once a day and not 100s of time a day.
am a hard worker and dont give up. shud i give it a try??

i like how it looks and i think i can pull it of. if you have/had dreads please give me your feed back!!

  2. If there like Bob Marley's then go for it. Although I have seen some dirty ass dreads so make sure there not like that.

  3. Nasty as shit.

  4. no, ill clean em. i cant go a day with out cleaning myself.

  5. i say go for it bro, i got dreads i love um and girls love um too

  6. did you use wax? if so how long did it take? if not wut did you use??

  7. no wax i just backcomb my hair and used some locking gel. people say dont use wax it stays in your hair. dont know your race but i am black so its easier for me to dread

  8. ya i have some wut thin hair.. how do you 'backcomb'?

  9. its like twisting your hair backward kinda hard to explain i would say just youtube it. i do know backcombing would probably be the easiest way for you do dread your hair. how big do you want your dreads. i dont think my dreads are to big but i hear from a lot of people that there big. like i said tho i love um. been growing my hair for like almost 2 years and ive had it dreaded for 1 year and 4 months. i dont re-twist my hair to much so i always have new growth. retwisting a lot can cause your hair to thin

  10. ya ill look it up. how long did it take you and did you do it your self?

I have neglect, all-natural dreads. They're almost 2 months old, and I love them already. :D IMO, they're awesome dreads and are def. worth the wait. They only thing is you gotta be patient. Very patient. Basically, you don't brush your hair at all and only wash a couple times a week. Just let your hair do it's thing. If you're not patient enough and HAVE to use use another method, i suggest Twist and Rip. Backcombing damages your hair much more and could cause it to shrink. Also, twist and rip is much easier and looks better, it's more "uniformed". I like the messy look neglect dreads give off though :smoke:

  13. id like more formed dreads.. and i cudnt go with out washing it. i hate brushing my hair so not having to do that wud be a +

  14. Go for it, dreads are in right now. TONS of people in the bay with 'em. Even one of the guys working in my office has dreads, just rolls em up under a cap during the day and no problem!

  15. I'm in the process of growing my hair so I could get dreads via backcombing

  16. I am growing my hair out a foot or two then waxing them, mainly because I am one impatient little fucker haha

  17. Do it! Dreads are hot ;)

Just backcomb/twist and rip if you're impatient.

  19. I researched about dreads 3 years ago and gave it a try my hair was about 6-7 inches long. I tried the backcombing method and it didn't work at all. I have very straight-oily-white person hair. I never came across the twist and rip method back then. After hearing about it in this thread I did some research and am currently in the process of dreading my first dread.

So for anyone with straight-oily-white person hair I suggest the twist and rip method. Works great!

I always wanted dreads. I say go for it.
