Though I see he does sort of do his own thing, he's mostly Weezy the 2nd. In other words, he ain't got his own style, hes not original so fuck him.
alot of rappers arent completely original.. cassidy, jadakiss and fab took their style from Big L.. jay-z took parts of biggies flow, 2pac got his delivery from scarface, snoop dogg got his flow from richie rich, early nas sounded like rakim.. early eminem sounded like nas.. the list goes on and on but that doesnt mean you shouldnt listen to him.. compared to the rest of the game today, drake is very lyrical (his wordplay and rhyme schemes), so i can let it slide if some parts of his flow sounds like weezy (sometimes he rips weezy on his own track). dude got skills, and he makes great music (although he got too many soft girl songs imo).
I work in the music industry, specifically dealing with Rap and R&B artists, and Drake is developing a nice buzz around him. I've known about him for years. Good to see he's finally getting recognized, even on places like here at GC!

Yeah dude, Drake is pretty straight. His flow is different from these other slow rappers just getting into the game, which is cool - it's something different, feel me? It's cool to see Wayne's Freshman sing-ons battling other dudes who are just now getting on the scene as well. Buuut, Wayne definitely steps right the fuck over Drake in that "Ransome" track. Veteran style, hahaha.
