Dr. Faustus appreciation thread

  1. Has anybody read Christopher Marlows, Dr. Faustus? It is a classic piece of literature written about 1590; originally a play. Tho plot is simple. A scholar sells his soul to the devil in return for something greater - magic. A quick reading proves to be a dull and easily misunderstood piece, but closer observation proves there is much much more. It is filled with humor and blasphemy; and written in language more beautiful then Helen.
I reccomend this book to anybody looking for a tough, yet utterly fulfilling read.
