There aren't a lot of fans of Subcool's "super soil" recipe around these parts.  It was my first organic soil mix.  I found it to be "lacking"...

We don't use pre-bagged soils as a base for organic soil mixes.  Mostly due to the fact that it's not cost effective and there are much better amendments to utilize for a balanced nutrient profile, not to mention the phytochemicals contained within said amendments that provide naturally occurring growth hormones, growth regulators, and other compounds that help with a plants SAR (Systemic Acquired Restistance), which is a plants natural ability to fight off attack from pathogenic insects (like spider mites) and microbes (like PM).

Have you spent anytime looking over the first several posts of this thread?

The newer, simpler soil mix can be found here.  I would highly suggest reading as much of the whole thread as possible.  There's a lot of really important/relevant information contained within when considering growing indoors with handcrafted organic soils.  Blue's results speak for themselves...

Hang out a while.  We'll help you build a proper organic soil that can be used over and over again with minimal amending between grows.

    Welcome to GCO!

  3. Where would I ask for the super soil advice? I'm new. subcools seemed east and I've seen a lot of success

I am using Dr Earths 4-4-4 on "when needed" basis with my homemade soil and its working great.
I have seen the bags of it priced $30+ for 1.5cf.
I thought it was a complete "super soil" already?

RP SkyWalker OG in a 20 gal tote using Dr Earth all purpose 4-4-4. Cant comment on the soil but this stuff is working great imo

  7. Ya ^ that's the place to ask. Save yourself money stress and time and do your soil mix based off InTheGardens or BlueJay's mix.

  8. Nothing easier than what Waktoo is talking about. great links posted by him. Well worth the time, read up some and if you don't agree then yes, Rollitup would be the place.
