I want something really simple. I want a subscription service for downloading music. I want it to be $5 or $10 a month for unlimited downloads of mp3's. I want to be able to keep the music I download forever. And I don't want proprietary formats, or copy protection. So far I've tried Pressplay and iTunes. Those are the only services I know about. Neither suits my needs. Pressplay is proprietary, and iTunes only works on Macs. Anyone have any ideas?
kazaa and kazaa lite are great, but they aren't services. it's still stealing music. (i still use it tho)
My mom was asking about it, and she really doesn't want to steal music. I've already got over 1100 songs, so what's a few more, but I've never really been comfortable with stealing music, and let's face it, that's what it is. Not for the record companies. They can kiss my ass. But for the artists. I was just looking for a way to compensate them. Anyway, this came up when the recording industry said they were going to sue users who share lots of music on Kazaa and other file trading services. I've already stopped sharing mp3's, but I still have over 500 music video's to share with others, so I don't feel guilty for downloading.
hmm...I share 2500 songs and about 20 movies right now. I need to burn the movies so they don't take up all my hd space. I should prolly stop sharing songs, too if they're going to start looking at who's doing what. I have a static ip so they can easily trace back to me.
