Dont understand medical

Discussion in 'Beginner Cannabis Consumption & Tips' started by bobby82, Mar 27, 2010.

  1. Ahright if a State allows medical marijuana does that mean it is legal? And if i get pulled over with it in my car then i cant get in trouble because it was prescribed to me. I ask this because in california we have legit clinics and doctors prescribe it BUT on the 2010 ballot for california you can vote on the legalization for marijuana for 21 and over and allowed to carry up to an O but i THINK they said for medical use but im not sure if for recreational use too.

  2. If the state allows medical marijuana that does NOT mean its legal.

It is only legal if you have a perscription.

Thats like saying that since oxycontine or percocet is perscribed they are fully legal.

Think pharmacy and dispensary as the same things.

And if you have your MMJ card then it will be legal for you.

  3. If medical marijuana is legal in just that State. Then it's legal in that state for medical purposes.

What you saw was a ballot for full regulation and legalization(like the way alcohol us regulated).

  4. No it is not legal. It is only legal if you have a mmj card and it was prescribed by a doctor. And of course that is only for the state. It is still federally illegal everywhere.

As for the ballot. That is for recreational legalization for anyone 21 and up in your state. Vote yes and end the prohibition. Let other people know too.

  5. This is important. Regardless of state laws, if you've got pot and you run into a federal officer of any kind, you can get double-fisted. Entrepreneurs thinking about opening shop when their state goes medical beware.

  6. Which is EXACTLY why State vs. Federal laws will continue to be an issue until something is done at the FEDERAL LEVEL.

While you may THINK you won't have anything to worry about because you rarely run into a Federal officer, consider all the places that you may frequent that do have Federal officers or are Federally controlled

There is at least one office for FBI and Secret Service in every State.

What is going to happen when you fly between two states that may have MJ legalized, and you have to fly with your "prescription"? Airports are nothing more than a huge expanse of Federally controlled land that also happens to have DHS on hand, and we all know how over-the-top they can be.

Same goes for Federal courthouses, a local Embassy, any Military base, which all of these could have vast surrounding areas of "Federal" land that may not even be gated.

Enjoy hiking around in the wilderness? Watch where you're going, you could be standing on National Park land, which is also Federally managed.

Get busted on any one of these, and you could be facing Felony charges simply based on your particular location at the time.

THIS is what sucks about dealing with a conflicting Federal law.

Regardless, we'll take a win one small step at a time, State by State. Just be aware of the Federally controlled areas and personnel around you at all times.
