Unless you are 100% sure you have nothing on you, and no warrants. Tomorrow I go to the magistrate for a paraphenelia charge. A few months back one of my friends overdosed on an IV opiate powder, and so like the good man I am, or at least try to be, I called 911 to get him help, and of course I wasn't thinking "Gee I better check the fuck out of everything in my possession" because I was far more concerned with administering CPR to my friend until the ambulance got there. 2 seconds after the ambulance got there, the cops arrived, basically in unison. The cops IMMEDIATELY had me up against the car, no initial patdown, just right to digging in my pockets (which if I'm not mistaken is ILLEGAL SEARCH AND SEIZURE) and in my plastic cigarette case, was 1 empty stamp bag from I don't even know when, I had been clean for awhile at that point, but it was up against the side of the case kind of stuck to it in an opaque case, so I never noticed it. Also I was meticulous at keeping my empty bags to scrape when I was hurting, and I would search if I had even 1 empty missing. Any how, I was arrested for paraphenelia. I'm watching the news (or rather just listening in while I was shaving) tonight, and I hear about a robbery that took place, at the end of which the victim was shot in the throat. A witness who saw it called 911, and when the police came, he's arrested for drug possession. Why the cops were searching him? Fuck if I know, probably cuz their mostly cocksucking motherfuckers. The lesson to be gained from all this? DON'T EVER CALL FOR HELP, LET A MOTHERFUCKER DIE UNLESS YOUR PREPARED TO BE HARASSED AND/OR ARRESTED FOR TRYING TO DO THE RIGHT THING.I could have just walked right back in my house and left it up to fate if my friend made it or not, but I decided to stay and do what I could until he could get real help. Obviously it was a fuckin mistake, because he woke up as soon as the paramedics got there anyway, before they even administered narcan he was up on his feet. The cops don't protect and serve, if they protected nobody would fucking fear them, or fear for their own well being if their ever needed. It's just like Dave Chappelles comedy skit when his house was robbed, he didn't call the police, because HE KNEW he would just get harassed. This is not a rare occasion, IT IS GUARANTEED. Does what happened to me sound like illegal search and seizure? I have a little bit of a plan involving "a donation" to just get the shit over with and settled, because I haven't been arrested in 3 years and I finally got my act cleaned up and I don't want the new arrest on my record, plus I don't want to have to deal with all the court bullshit. So if he doesn't accept my plea and offer (which is not a bribe), I'm pleading not guilty due to illegal search and seizure, like "you coulda got your money but now your not gonna get jack fuckin shit". Oh by the way, the cops searched my friends truck and found empty stamp bags and also a pair of brass knuckles. My friend has received no summons. Most likely because the cops know they weren't allowed to do it. But I try to save a life and I get fuckin arrested for 1 EMPTY FUCKING BAG. I swear to God if I gotta go to court over this dumb fuckin shit it's gonna get drastic.
Im sure they passed some law that because your friend ODd, they could search you or something. Also if you left him, you could be charged with manslaughter or negligent homicide... Either way, you're screwed.
did you specify that you just needed an ambulance/what the problem was? Usually they don't send out the whole brigade of EMS/police/fire unless it's an unknown issue or they know everyone will be needed. Or mebbe it's just the ghetto ass city I work in. Half of the time when we have combative, batshit crazy patients, they won't send police...
There was no "stash", my stash was in my house. This empty bag was from probably 2 months prior and was stuck inside my cigarette case, I had no idea it was there. I should have pulled him out the whip laid him on the ground like I did then called from inside my house like "there's a man laying in the street unconscious in front of my house"
I told them "my friend overdosed" It's too bad I never went to the needle clinic with all the other junkies, I could have taken the class to get narcan and shot him myself, no police needed. That's probably why they have that class and give out narcan, cuz they know it's retarded to call the police if someone OD's cuz your just gonna get harassed. If I dove n pushed a little kid out from in front of a truck I'd be a hero regardless of if I was a drug addict, but someone OD's and I do what I can to save them and I'm a criminal. It's all good though, my plan will work even though it'll cost me the fine, I don't care bout the fine I just don't want the shit on my record n I don't wanna deal with bullshit ass court
lol at opiate powder...hm....what could that be? I personally od'd on said powder and xanax, and my boys called the ambulance, it saved my life, but 2 of them got arrested I got out of the joint, so did they and I tossed em 500 each for savin my life, while possibly ruining the rest of their life. Its sad even in the time of life/death those coppers are still tryna bust you.
In my city usually everyone gets dispatched if an ambulance gets called (including fire dept.) Cops almost always come with an ambulance especially if it's know drugs are involved.
im pretty sure they always do that, idk if u have people od'ing on heroin at ur house, they prolly wanna make sure u werent selling it to him. but ive known people whove died because people spent time like hiding all their shit or getting someone to take it all with them. i think there should be some law that protects you from being searched but o well. i think if u saved his life, the ticket shouldnt be the worst thing ever. ur a hero. but i guess an od is a scene of a crime. sched 1 drug use/ and posession but dont say never call 911, thats ignant.
I used to be very pro cop until I thought about psychology. There are experiments about when people get power or an authority and easily shed the shackles of guilt. When told what to do by a power figure people rarely question. However this creates the ability to ignore empathy and is strangly the same mental processing psychopaths use to kill or wrong others. Cops aren't just doing their jobs, they've chosen a side. One is to live free and fight for freedom the other is to "protect and serve". Everyone's capable of extreme evil or opression especially when given the power to "control"
Fear of cops was the major driving force for Narcan programs at needle exchanges. I wish they were available in more places. Nasal narcan is the easiest thing to administer in the world. There have been way too many cases of witnessed OD deaths, because the surrounding people were too afraid to call for help due to potential police involvement. On the other hand, they don't generally prepare you for what people are like post narcan wake up. It's not pleasant.. and that's an understatement. I'm all for it, but I do think it would encourage some people to feel more invincible, or not learn lessons from near death, and create a false sense of security.. if that makes sense Anyway, don't wanna hijack your thread to talk of narcan programs. so yeah.
the key is not to say its an overdose or drug related, just say some1 passed out and you need an ambulance, give as little detail as possible without endangerin the persons life -edit- and zorang is right...post narcan...your a mad man, I woke up like bat outta hell...almost wishing I died. That shit is nasty, but its better than death.
I've been hit with Narcan 5x in my life, one out of stupidity when I learned you could inject a certain opiate maintenance drug. If I would have read another 5 posts down, I would have seen you can only do it "if you have no other opiates in your system" Precipitated withdrawal is agonizing, the worst kind of sick you could ever imagine lol
When I saw the title I was like... UNLESS you want to go to jail I call an ambulance on myself from a pay phone after my dad beat the shit out of me and left a golf ball sized dinosaur egg on my forehead. The cops came first, asked where he was, was reluctant to tell them and then the ambulance took me to the hospital. After about an hour two cops came and handcuffed me out of the emergency room bed and arrested me, because I pushed him first because he was telling me to fight him and calling me a pussy if I wouldn't. He was like pussy...pussy, taunting me. I wouldn't go outside the apartment and fight him so he said PUSSY and walked away I just saw red and pushed his ass as hard as I could and he fell and hit his head on the dinner table, but it damn sure didn't phase him because he was on me like white on rice, punching me over and over and over again in the same place in the forehead. His gf said she was the one who gave me the black eye for calling her a bitch a few days before. I Had a bloody nose, HUGE goose-egg and a black eye HE HAD A SCRATCH ON HIS FOREHEAD so they arrested me and NOT HIM! I spent 3 days in juvenile detention center. Fucking JSO for you. Watch out if your raise a cellphone to one of them, your ass will look like swiss cheese. And if your just minding your own business with your 3 year old boy in the car and a bank robber jumps in a tries to hijack your car, they will shoot your baby instead.
