Done with weed for good

  1. I've been smoking weed for 5 years to the month. I started when I was 14 and gradually led to daily use.

Weed made me extremely paranoid, depressed and gave me mad anxiety. Ever had a bad high where your heart races? You feel like everyones looking at you?? That started to happen to me when I was sober.

Every time that I smoke weed now it is a horrible experience involving panic attacks and anxiety.

I haven't smoked weed in 5 days and the symptoms are subsiding if not gone. I don't know if I will ever smoke again.

I'm saying this as a warning, I never thought weed could have a negative affect on me however I was fuckin wrong. I think it had to do with the age and amount that I smoked.

    Has anyone else experienced this?

  2. could also be your personality, if you are a very paranoid person, you will not feel comfortable with the highness.

  3. dude that sucks, but whenever my heart races that just means im HIGH :hello:

  4. Everyone's different.

When I smoke, I use it 90% of the time to sit down and think, write, be creative.
And it's been for the better -- my productivity has increased, I'm more fluent expressing things verbally and have a better understanding of myself.

And whenever I'm sober I still am the same way when I smoke, but would have never got to that point without it.

Then again, I don't smoke everyday. Chemistry is different with everyone, for some people, it's not a smart choice, doesn't mean you can't find something for your needs elsewhere.

Good luck with whatever you decide OP.

  5. Sounds like theirs more of an underlying issue. Maybe I'm wrong though. I'm not a psychology expert by any means.

  6. I respect your decision man and good luck with it. Sucks that weed is not for you. Have there been any changes in your life that you think contributed to this? Or have you got any underlying symptoms that weed could exacerbate?

Or do you think that it was just the weed?

  7. the more i hang around here the more i notice threads like this with the same reactions.

as i have said before in other threads, that sucks and everybody has different reactions to a lot of things including food.

"warning" people won't really do much. if people start having an bad experience then they, much like you, will drop it - im sure of it.

    best of luck to you

  8. More weed for me..

  9. 5 years and all these bad highs?

im at 3 years and not 1 bad high :D:smoke:

cant believe you cant smoke now wihtout feeeling these shitty things...

since it wasnt like that before... its probably you dude who 'reacting' or acting different???
    you try edible high? vaporizing?

i dunno about QUIT WEED FOREVER. how bout a SHORT BREAK:smoke:

  10. I give you a month - tops.

  11. Honestly the same thing happened to me about five years into it as well. I was smoking on the daily, doing well in school, had a girlfriend, apartment, job all that jazz. All of the sudden something just ticked the wrong way and it ruined MJ for me. I see that OST is on this topic so I am curious to see what his perspective is. I have smoked a couple of times since I abstained from MJ usage about a year ago four good experiences and two bad. The two less than enjoyable experiences were when I just got way too high.

  12. I've had some physical discomfort and worrying due to a pinched nerve after I smoked. I didn't know it at the time but I had a pinched nerve that drastically affected the way my left arm and back felt. When I smoked, it seemed like all the symptoms were really noticeable and it got kind of scary. I took a little break and gave it time to heal. Here I am a month later and haven't had anything go wrong while high.

Sometimes it's hard for people to accept that there are downsides of marijuana usage. You might not have any underlying problems at all; it's just the weed. No big deal. If it's not for you, it's not for you.

  13. sometimes its time to stop at a point in your unique life so you should not feel bad about it or anything. However, I love weed. I mean, I have stopped for long periods but came back to it because it felt right for me. Vaporizing made it magical I absolutely love it because there are less toxins in your body yet I feel just the total relaxation. Next bag is for Bob Marley RIP

Yet it seems like your situation is more towards the anxiety and for that you have to find what causes it. Atmosphere is huge also mental state smoking. Just think about it, the thing that sets it off when your high.

  14. that's what happens when you abuse it
weed cured my anxiety (i don't just get high and my anxietys gone it helped me rid my anxiety permanently)

don't go saying weeds bad for you
you can enjoy a nice cheeseburger here and there, or you can eat 10 cheeseburgers a day and die

    moderation...

  15. never heard of such thing :smoke:

  16. Dont blame it on the dank. I have a lot of mental illnesses and use it medically for those purposes.

  17. Have you ever taken an extended break from usage... it's pretty fucked up what happens.

Yes i have. Luckily I am already on a range of meds for my conditions. If you have problems get on real medication and this shit doesnt happen once you find the right medicine that works for you.

I can function without weed. Went on an extensive t break about month and a half ago. All was well.

Edit: The only fucked up part is having MI. And if you arent diagnosed by a doctor please dont come on GC making these claims.

    No one in particular, anybody.

  20. No I was smoking about an ounce a week at my pinnacle of usage which is quite a bit. I stopped smoking for drug testing for jobs during my break at uni and had the worst irrational fears. Issues with depersonalization and derealization, smoked for five years pretty much on the daily and just really started having a difficult time. Refused to take pharmas or any other narcotic treatment just dealt with it and got over it right before my next semmie started.
